Outpost Rush is not fun at all

I’m not saying there isn’t a problem, notably with Mortal Empowerment, but it also seems to me that some people don’t accept the weaknesses of their build.
If you run around pure melee, with crap constitution to do max damage, you will be easily killed.
It’s normal that the best are those who are the most versatile, which is using one melee and one ranged weapon.

God knows why my frames drop 50% in OPR, all good outside of it. Waste of time really getting into bigger fights, as usual it just becomes a ckusterfk in what feels like mud.

There is nothing inherently versatile/more skillful about running one ranged and one melee weapon.

What build are you even talking about here? Bow or musket + rapier is the only combo i can think of that is meta and split melee/ranged.

The entire point of that combo is to NOT use the melee weapon to attack but instead save it to escape and be ranged for longer.

Kind of the opposite of what youre saying here.

Just fix Baron, it should be aggregate damage that locks it and not the last hit.

Funny as I just logged off CoS where 3 back to back OPRs were so 1 sided that 1 team didnt break 100 points in all 3 games. Yes such a good mode, very balanced

Freedom needs a mega nerf like Shirking Energy. Make it so Freedom can only be ran on 1 piece of gear, say boots since Shirking Energy is already tied to Legs. 5 stack Freedom is the dumbest fucking design

I play on COS, I recognize these names, looks like a pre-made. Most of the games (I would say 90-95%) are one sided snore fests. Until they get proper matchmaking I wish they would just implement solo que for OPR.

Just finished one of those “good” OPRs LOL

1000 to 35 (58 to 11 kills)

Was awesome for sure…

The next one was a real nail biter though

1000 to 257 (114 to 31 kills)

Unfortunately this is the way the majority of OPR’s go…

I’m on COS and before the game even starts I can typically look at the players on each team and tell you which team has the premades and are going to win the game. It’s the same people always running around in groups. You’ll never come across those players solo.

You could put more trees and rocks (nothing you can climb on) on the map. Would give melee more chances to stay out of line of sight.

Band-aiding won’t help. The gamemode is broken beyond repair.

Completely agree, it is boring, smae, same every time.

Opr is fun, just not always. I think some of the matches that end in steam rolls are not all that skewed. Probably more to do with people not understanding the importance of back capping, building up the first base with spawns, walls, camp buffs, etc… If the other teams zerg death ball is too much you have to try to split it up by not constantly attacking the mid point. Also, not sure how so many people still get spawn killed. There are multiple exits from main spawn.

I do think ags has dropped the ball for not providing at least one other map variant at this point. Since there aren’t any new maps on the current ptr and the holidays are coming up, I don’t expect any opr updates until next year, but that is just a guess from me.

You hit a wall pretty quick in PVE in this game, there’s really nothing left for a PVP’r but cracked up opr. I melee and heal and it’s just a shit show of whacked ranged/magic builds, premades and pocket healers. It’s all I do, and to be honest I find myself logging on less and less because I just don’t want to heal you assholes anymore and the balance for a melee is stupid most of the time.

If it was more like battlefield where there were multiple maps and big matches…now that might get my NW wood going again! CHeers yall

I use to hate OPR as I was getting 1 shot and did no dmg with 610 GS. On FSS I got rank 1 with 550 GS … so like it now

Yeah that’s unfortunately very true. I used to call the winner at the start. Only got it wrong once (it ended up being the mythical close opr)

I posted to cap premades to 3 man squads at least. These same people ravaged the thread with make friends etc etc.

We all have friends on the server, but that doesn’t mean we queue as a war ready squad trying to crush any hope of winning from those unfortunate souls who just enjoy a little balanced pvp!

Here is a player that actually understands the game mode! Rare breed indeed. Teach the others so we can at least stop hearing the pvp only folks complain about the pve guy repairing the door to prevent yet another steamroll.

This isnt wrong, but i think your conclusion is.

Depending on who wins that first fight at mid, one team will need to understand all of these different tactics in order to come back. Meanwhile, the zerg that won mid will be W keying to an easy victory unless you outplay them as a 20 man.

Thats not fair or good design. Its a random battleground. You shouldnt be totally rolled based on the first fight with the exception of completely outplaying them as a team (of randoms)
