Bow got overall nerf and melees are crying that OPR is now worse than ever. It’s pretty obvious what’s funny about it.
I mean it will probably pass but a LOT of people are testing changes to new ranged changes and my OPRs have been almost entirely ranged.
I didnt cry about it. I swapped to FS/BB and fireballed them from ranged myself.

Depends how you add up the damage. I can delete a GS player in onslaught in like 2 seconds?
Nice. I was thinking about trying that. When I come back. You running it in light or medium? I usually run igbb or vgig but bought that fire staff for pairing w/bb.
one auto from FS, you aren’t hitting for 5k even with 400 int. Neither should bows or muskets.
For FS/BB i do light bc the goal is big burst but i know someone who likes it in medium. I do ig/bb also and that one i play either way.
You didnt specify what attack or anything. No a charged heavy crit is more like 3kish usually.
Exactly, that’s crazy to me. Do you think a good bow player will hit you as much as you hit him, both firing heavy’s at say 25 meter distance?
Oh no bow definitely out classes mage in the ranged department. Hell the fire auto vanishes into thin air before it gets to them depending how far they are.
Which like…why? Apparently magic is weaker than primitive bow and arrow lol. The projectile is also slower so harder to hit a moving target.
Edit: ranged usually run stuff to protect from other ranged tho so if you land say a heavy + fireball combo they almost instantly die lol
That’s why mage is also dependent. If there’s too many muskets/bows you can’t play that either in OPR. Since they hardcounter mage, you can’t reach them but they 3shot you
This is true. I tend to do more deleting the enemy assassins that try to jump healers and other backline than killing bows/muskets

Can kill ranged players easily now, outside of the top 1% which know how to run, which I think is good because they all run 50-150con, TTK is fast, good risk vs reward.

They’re really enforcing the buddy system. Solo play in OPRs becoming harder and harder.
Mage trying to 1v1 everyone has a hard time, mage following the main busier force and is top 5 always
I do think it was a buff.
I’ve never been hit by an explosive arrow headshot + heavy headshot in OPR, but it has happened several times since the patch. I have 34% thrust resistance in OPR and that combo does >7.1k. It kills me in one combo ![]()
Are you actually including FS (that received a mere 3.5% damage buff) in your rant about range weapons? Yikes.
Yes. Because since everybody wants to test out fire staff after the buff, there’s now at least 10 fire staff’s in each OPR, making the ranged meta even worse than it was before.
There is no such thing as “ranged meta” in OPR. People are just fucking lazy and stupid, simple. Statpadding with a bow is the easiest way to get to the desired 3k. Its a scoring issue mainly, not the weapons themselves.
Beyond that melees win everytime because bows with spears/rapiers can’t compete inside of the outpost when the body count is higher.
Like the lead game designer said, its fine for weapons to be strong in one part but weak in another. So just don’t go into open spaces and sit in zerg balls, wars, or within 5 feet of cover. Go makes some friends so they can go healer and hold your hand down the roads. The game lead plays musket by the way.
