Overseer Zane is a joke

6m respawn, just group with 4 randoms nearby and you all get credit. It seems to be based on a certain amount of damage not just tags, same goes for any mob.

I’m confused on how there have been multiple updates saying you guys have fixed these things, yet here we are stuck with a 6 minute timer on a single mob getting hit by 20 people and by the time he respawns those that got credit have been replaced by more.

I wasted a good chunk of time trying to finish two quests that require Defeat Overseer Zane. No luck after many spawns. Be great if a GM could just count those quests complete for me before I log back on tomorrow, at the very least his spawn timer needs to be shorter and require less damage to get credit.

This problem is very frustrating. I will try it again today by inviting some people. Please fix this issue.

I was standing in the Overseer’s spawn area with about twelve other players. I attempted to kill him through five individual spawns, taking over twenty minutes, and I did not get credit any of those times. He is usually dead before I can cast a second thing, and only my full Rapier combo was able to be executed before his passing (which I must stress did NOT give credit.)

Fix your mess, please, this is absurd.

AGS seriously needs to fix this. You should at least increase respawn time like they did with Master Henry

I ended up abandoning it. I was on a party. After 4 failed attempts I left. The crowd of players was only getting bigger.
Archaic game mechanics.

This reminds me of the old days in WoW. There are fixes to these types of problems guys. Making 30-50 stand around to get a lucky shot on this long spawn is not gonna make people like your game. Fix Overseer Zanes spawn, or fix the quest. One of the two. Ive already been up there three times. Cant get it done because too many people are standing right on top of him…

Relax, give them a break, they’re only a trillion dollar company.
I bet they were working on the swimming animation and forgot to fix Zane in time. /s

No but for real tho, this game does NOT feel like it came from such a rich company and is honestly a huge letdown in that regard. They should’ve delayed release for another 6 months at the very least.

Yes, please. This is too real for a fictional version of hell.

Yup, this quest needs fixing, absolutely stupid design

Same here, several times within an hour I’ve been going back to get him as each time I am doing damage and practically on top of him, but I’m not getting the credit. This needs serious attention please.

Jacked up quest… 30 players camping to hit him, and maybe one or two get credit… have tried for 30 mins with no luck to tag him enough to kill him

Just to add my vote for bad design.

Tried by myself for four times, then grouped up with three others for three times.

Gave up on this quest.

Just gave up on this quest after waiting for 4 respawns. Not getting the objective despite tagging Overseer Zane. Could a GM please just progress my character through the quest?

Bumping. Same issue, and the respawn timer is ridiculous for only 1-2 players to get the quest.

The respawn needs a buff or recognize more people tagging the boss.

+1 running into this issue now, good lord it’s annoying

Hey all,

reading todays patchnotes, it seems that AGS has increased the respawn timer for Overseer Zane. Hopefully this will help everyone getting the quest done.

I am enjoying the game and have been a “pro amazon” person for some time.

That being said. It feels like an early beta. I mean there are placeholder graphics for much of the furniture. There is ONE character animation for males and females, one sit animation (females sit like males). No mounts (so no development for them), the housing placement system is janky as F. There are so many reused assets, same house spammed in every city x4, a handful of dungeons.

I mean, when you really observe what IS in game, it starts to become pretty apparent that the game was pushed to launch. This is why travel sucks so bad, to gate the content to draw out play time.

I am enjoying my time, but that does not change the observable fact that there seems to be very little development outside of the amazingly beautiful landscape. Even now, I am starting at my character who’s face and hair look completely washed out (I do graphics for a living and my monitor is calibrated, DEFINITELY not brightness boosted).

My girlfriend said it best “This game feels like its in beta, and that’s being generous.”
