I keep getting asked about this add on. People on the channel, in game, everywhere! I try to explain in the best way possible that it is NOT bannable and was deemed ok by the devs. They still want clarification and proof that they will NOT get banned for using this. Here is a video using ONLY the Overwolf Minimap Add-on and nothing else. When used in this way, is this bannable or allowed? Please clarify this for everyone. I know you posted in the official post but it still leaves some room for misinterpretation. So i will just flat out ask, in the video, is this ok?
Yea it is allowed. Although I do miss the old way before it had to be changed, where the in-game minimap overlay actually showed the Pins of the nodes. My suggestion would be to bring it back and change it to where it can only be viewed if the Player has reached a certain level of gathering for it to be tracked and displayed on the minimap overlay again.
But yes in regards to your question, it is allowed and was confirmed some time ago, hence why changes were made to to it and resource nodes were removed from in-game minimap overlay (not the browser).
No need to get all hot and bothered guys. Yes we all know how to read and search but there are people that watch my videos that arent satisfied with the official forum post. So chill out lol. Lets see what the devs say about it. We all k ow they said overwolf is fine but using it in this way with a 2nd monitor and an external map, it would be nice to hear the devs say, yup, this is fine. If youâre scared and donât have enough common sense to search to see where they clearly stated their thought on the mini-map addonâŚitâs simple. Donât use it!

Iâd beg to differ. Most peopleâŚevidenced by the fact this post was pretty much ignored by all but a couple people⌠would say the thing that âadds nothing the communityâ is these questions that have clearly been answered 1000 times.
People continually asking questions that have been answered in depth repeatedly gets old real quick. Itâs even more annoying when slender points to the thread the devs made about the topic in his video and one idiots still feels the need to get personal developer permission to use something theyâve already said can be used.
