Mostly because that is what’s left. End game is very content light, and in order to stay competitive in the market you needed to be early adopters. First few days Starmetal tools sold for 600-1000g now they are free. Orach tools now sell for 200-300 only if they are azoth/yeild/luck.
Any weapons/armor are useless unless they are voidbent now. Nobody will buy your random RNG drops unless they are 580 GS+ and have godrolls… and if so they buy em for cheap.
The whole of endgame right now is Voidbent & gathering/crafting gear.
Since nothing breaks, people only ever need 1. If it wasn’t you that sold them that 1 you aren’t making money.
I get what your saying, and yes maybe I am min/maxing a bit hard, but I enjoy that about games like this. I’ve aways been a gather/refiner in past MMOs because it’s a good way to keep your funds up for other things.
Again, when you need to grind out 100K of something because the crafting system is dogwater and promotes just mass producing low tier crafts (especially now that the refining agent market has stablized and stuff is hella expensive again) you don’t just lick your finger and follow the wind.
All the minimap does for me is saves me from tabbing out and pulling up a website which also promotes exploration because maybe today instead of running SM orach runs, I may go try out Ebonscale and I can explore in and around those node spawns
I get that part. What i am wondering is why your professions and quests werent finished at around the same time.
Until you notice it’s 4 weeks later and while everyone else is playing you sitting on your maxed toon with lots of cash and have nothing to do. That’s exactly how i ruined a lot of games for myself, even though i am usually who builds tools and sheets for my squad. Not doing that for New World made the game so much better, other games i managed to burn through in a couple of weeks just like you did with NW, but i also stopped playing those games sometime after i did.
lol, the craftingsystem just like everything else in this game is designed, as far as i understood their systems, to prevent you from mindlessly grinding. And yet people still manage to grind.
You’ll see why your professions and quests weren’t finished at the same time in time
1 - 150 is about 30% of 150-200. Gathering is not so bad, but you aren’t going to be able to max any of your refining or crafting until you have proper access to the 60 zones. There is a very painful bottleneck you will hit.
As I said I took is slow in comparison to many other players. I wasn’t 60 all that quickly as far as game time / leveling. Even weeks ago if you wanted to be included in invasions or wars you had to be 60, players who were pushing to min/max already had you beat on the market.
This of course could be a server difference.
The crafting system needs to bump up the xp gains of the mid-tier stuff. As it stands the most cost effective, non bank breaking way to level up say armorsmithing is to craft 25,000 linen boots. Trying to move up to silk is such a loss in total xp gains compared to the absurd cost in resources it just isn’t worth it.
I think we hijacked this thread and took it way off topic lol
Everquest came out in 1999. I was there. Thats 22 years ago. We’ve come along way since EQ. I’m not saying AGS needs to add it now, its something that should of been at launch. Exactly like overwolf’s addon. Just a map of the base terrain with your character in real time. Something as basic as that would of been fine.
This whole discussion of whether the mini-map SHOULD or SHOULD NOT be allowed is pointless. It is circular and has all been said on these forums ad nauseum. The issue and entire point of this thread is what AGS has said.
AGS has said - as I stated in my initial post…some 80+ posts ago… It is currently being discussed on whether to approve it or not… which means that at this time: It is not approved. Use it if you want, but be aware that using such things can result in repercussions.
Well, many hate the NW compass and have to open the Map to navigate constantly. I guess you want inconvenience for other people since you could just turn it off for yourself…
Oh please people running macros and machine gun life/fire staffs getting no bans. It would make them look bad if they ban people for using a map addon.
A lot of UI issues can be offloaded into developers that can fix it with an addon. This is why WoW is exceptional with addons, but they do need moderation.
no, they said any 3rd party app which gives a player a competitive advantage against another player is against TOS.
They did not specify minimap products.
Meanwhile other members of the team have said that the minimap products are not violating their TOS or their anti-cheat policies and for now are allowed. however this is not an “Official stance” we just have the words of certain devs.
The tracker system is useless. It does not work correctly and you cannot filter it. Maybe if the compass were far better then people would be less inclined to turn to mini maps
This was said by an offshore CSR rep. The same people that brought you incorrect info such as “the farther you get into invasions, the more it downgrades your settlement if you fail” and a dev had to come in and correct the record.
Don’t trust anything a CSR says about the game they don’t know what they’re talking about
Anyway, minimap just uses your coordinates, which are given to you by the game no packet sniffing required, and then gives an overlay of a map AGS themselves provided using those coordinates.
It is not a hack and it is not detectable. If it were detectable it would mean the game is sniffing around in your computer outside of the application and that is a privacy issue. Just use it.
Hi! Thanks for replying to me with old/outdated information, but please continue reading the thread where we explained how they changed their stance, provided links, and talked about it. Thanks!
