Unfortunately the lead guy is unqualified for this job. He came over from the Amazon book department. Forbes did a good article about it and explained a lot of what has been done wrong there for years. Bad decisions and lack of knowledge seem to be the main issues.
I agree with most except alts. You don’t need alts in this game, your character just picks up another weapon and voilà - you have an alt.
True, but that means on any server really new low levels will have trouble finding people to do questing with, especially dungeons. I dont love the alts idea but who are new players going to play with for that content?
hey you’re the pictures guy noooo ):
you must have never played fallout 76 where people still dupe everything and sell if for real cash
you have 2 characters slots, just make a 2nd character and you have your alt.
Go try and make one on your same server or worldset.
I have 2 characters on Valhalla right now.
FFXIV: A realm reborn has people injection millions if gil into the game day 1. Using a java script none the less. The game has turned out fine and it really didn’t do much to it.
No you don’t.
You have access to my game account? wow time to change my password.
I have access to the public knowledge that it is literally impossible to create two characters on the same world set let alone the same server.
So post a screenshot of it.
I think the game has too much vertical progression and not enough horizontal progression.
Everyone is rushing for essentially the same BiS equipment which shows that there isn’t good diversity in endgame objectives. BiS should be Best in Situation, not Best in Slot.
This would open up a lot of viability in crafting as you’d perhaps need different gear for different in-game objectives. Unfortunately nothing in the game is that demanding of performance, so you just farm your essentially BiS all-purpose gear and you’re done.
Great post and agree with a lot of this!!! Worth the short term money, but not a long term game
this is the same across every mmo, because it’s too tedious to collect, carry, and change equipment for every situation.
WoW to this day is still revamping old dungeons to update for max level characters - No MMO is going to release with that content built in. At least in NW they made it so low level zones have a use for max level characters needing T1, T2, T3, T4 mats to make T5 stuff.
Orbs are a means to circumvent lockouts. Most MMO’s let you only run endgame content on a limited basis with lockouts. Here you can run them as much as you want provided you play the other parts of the game as well - crafting, portal closing
Now granted bugs are playing havoc with this progression, but you also aren’t totally locked out in gear progression because you can farm outdoor elite areas.
IMHO they hit a bunch or core ideas perfectly, but they need to fine tune them and make them more manageable. This is why i’m giving this game my time instead of wow, eso, eq2, rift, LoTRO. I’m even skipping Lost Ark beta to play here because i like the core systems.
Post a pic.
This is the most well written, thought-out exit post I have ever seen.
I cannot argue with one point you made and many are the same issues I see.
Although I love the game, I have been logging in for the last couple of weeks but have really done nothing as I have been in a wait-and-see mode like so many other players I know. We show as ‘active’ players on the log but many of us already have a foot out the door.
Thanks for sharing the feedback and hopefully, when Amazon turns some things around, a lot of us that have left, are on a wait-n-see cycle or already have that foot out the door will all meet up again someday in Aeternum!
The collection is often the fulfilling part for people. You absolutely don’t need to carry gear you’re not planning to use. You only need to change if you’re planning on doing something that would require it to change.
An example: GoG is full of angry earth enemies that do nature damage. If that content was actually challenging, players might need to craft weapons with angry earth bane and armor with nature damage resistance/angry earth ward.
You’d only actually need to have that set available if you were planning on doing GoG or other angry earth related activities, which means realistically you could easily just leave it in an Edengrove town storage.
This could then allow AGS to make more compelling rare crafting drops for other gear outside of GoG.
Now we’d have horizontal gameplay that gives people a reason to do something other than GS farm and craft voidbent for everything.
