because they also redid the starting questline from level 1.

Because the 2h ironing board skins are huge! Each sword skin takes up a megagig and 2hrs download time! its taken some serious work to create those!!

No, the patch is 55GB. The download is 38GB.
Because they’re changing about a billion different textures, zones have undergone redesigns (with cities changing, among other things), a whole new zone… Of course it’s gonna be a large patch.
On fiber, that’s less than 10 minutes

Which is no big deal, the downtime is going to be AT LEAST 4 hours.
exactly. in the mean time i play gothic 2 yet again
im on fibre where i am downloading it luckily but still taking 80 mins + at 80mbps but if i was at my place it would be 8 hours on ADSL :S

I live at the moment in a eastern European country in a 60people village where the next city is 50km away and I still need less than 4h for the whole thing xD

your not on typical fibre then or in the uk you must be FTTP normal fibre only goes up to 80mbps here in the uk fttp can go up 1GbPS
cant do anything about the limits of copper over fibre and fttp isnt avalible here till 2025 and my place is only getting 21mbps again nothing to do with lazynesss its our goverments lazyness with keeping on shitty copper for so many decades

How can it be our own fault ? Do you mean we have to start pulling our own cables or what ? 
If your phone can get access to 4g, you’re well off to get decent net.

So not true, I can tether over USB but the speed only doubles for me, (2 connections , adsl + 4g). plus with 4g you have a massive fluctuation in speed,…
