You can do the patch during non-prime time. Saying they are able to do this now because “it’s their working hours” is not valid. Would you be ok that your ISP is doing some work which would cause some downtime at 9AM when they easily could do it at 2AM. That’s why people get paid overtime, once you reach an amount on userbase you have a certain responsibility. Everything that is not a hotfix should be planned at when the amount of concurrent users is at it lowest so that’s for example 2AM timezone dependent not independent.

Not only is it absolutely ridiculous to bring down servers at prime time but i am more confused why it needs to be brought down.
Why in the hell would you create an event where the server side part runs fixed to/inside the server side game system?
It’s temporary, it will be gone again - it should NOT be part of the main code system from the game.
It should be a separate system, running independently but connected to the game system.
One that you can reset, modify, turn off, turn on again without affecting the main game, especially since it’s “release” aka “unexpected events can happen”.
Why on earth would you make a temporary add-on part of your main code/system and run the risk that it creates issues in there…

Seems like it is fixed already… less than the 90 minutes advertised.
If the patch is something that is needed right way to fix the game play then we should all be fine with it. Its a game not life and things dont always go our way.

The irony in the comments… all the people telling you it’s nbd and to ’go touch grass’ are the ones that don’t care because they play all day (thus needing to touch their own grasses). The people that are upset are the ones that have 1-2 hours to play and this ’planned’ patch is hitting right in their free time.

If you have different servers for different time zones then this arguments doesn’t make sense.
Either you have US east, west, EU servers and you have a prime time for those servers or there is not point seperating them to being with.
Or maybe we just grew up in a different era. It is nbd really. Kind of used to not always getting things my way, and that is ok. I understand why you are salty about it though. /bighugs /patonhead “it will be ok”

The fact that people get so angry about this is just sad. If there is a dupe exploit in the game they are right to shut that down right quick. I see posts like this after every update. Is there really nothing anyone else does with their lives?

I doubt they have server admins in every time zone.
So having the admins do the work while working their normal shift makes perfect sense.
Everybody knows that.
