Patchnotes Summer Patch VG

go to pTR and test, put 99 int vs 100 int
you will see VG blade get 10% light/heavy auto attack dmg bonus from the 100 int attribute.
So its doing the same dmg as before.
And its get the advantage of split attribute that give 50 more points.
It is actually buffed.

BB/IG replaces SNS/x as a point tank. Nobody runs 10 in an army, even on Dry Tree where it originated. In US West and East, you see maybe 2-4 tanks per army.

And none of them run Refreshing Ward. If you want to run Refreshing Ward, play a Heavy armor bruiser, not a point tank.

You boys ever seen anyone using tether or rupture in PvP? I mean they could maybe make those a little useful if they are nerfing the other stuff.
Or just remove them

Still the number is not the matter. The build is just too strong. Just because Bow is strong you dont play with 30 bows.

I use a cdr build with VG and can get 3 oblivion active at the same time fairly frequently in both pvp an pve(pvp a lot more uncommon tbh)

Maybe I can get a 4th one going with more cdr? Who knows

Rupture op, nerfs to stamina makes it an amazing 1v1 tool more so than it was before

I’m by no means the end all be all for VG but Voidblade is fine as it is; HOWEVER, I do not think a 10% nerf would gut it by any means. Voidblade is an absolute monster in wars and has really good lunge, (Lunge = magnetism towards players. It’s hit detection sucks though) Honestly not that big of a hit to VB. Bigger things worth complaining about.

They say 10% nerf but it’s doing more damage overall
edit: for int builds

Scream needs a windup animation like Hammer abilities if they’re going to keep the 2s root. Otherwise if its going to be the instant cast nonsense it should go back down to 1s. It still is an instant death ability in wars. You burn your stamina while rooted and get mobbed on as a melee. It needs an actual animation you can dodge. In duels you can try to dodge and see it coming. In wars its VG user error if they miss a melee with their back turned fighting around point. It lousy to play against.

The heavy 7m-10m dash Heavy attacks with void blade need to go. Complete garbage. Why are STR lunge attacks for 2h and 1h weps poor but Void Blade has a Rapier Fleche ability length tied to its 1-H blade heavy attacks? Its ridiculous.

Been months, but I have reiterated the fact that Tether needs to endure after weapon swap or else it remains a terrible ability. Healers can weaken targets and regen mana with it, Tanks can use oblivion for stamina and tether for weakening while keeping shield up, and Damage Dealers can use it to transfer power from target to themselves while applying light CC. Lot of wasted potential.

Essence Rupture needs slightly higher damage and it NEEDS to proc for Overflowing Essence on target death to include the hit that ER landed. Feels terrible as an ability when you kill a mob and do not get the healing proc. My main gripe that keeps an ER, Scream, and Orb build from working really well in PvP and non-boss sitches in PvE. Also, REAPPLICATION of ER on a target already debuffed with ER should give that heal payout.

@LarkWyll Heavy lunge on Void Blade definitely needs to be revisited as neither the user nor the target knows just how long the attack can reach. I do get the argument about VG not having haste or gap closers, but the tracking on it right now performs pretty well to stick to light armor rolls (if I am of course not mistaken).

Per Void Scream, AGS has still not addressed the big issue of visibility/windup/sound cues for the ability. Admittedly, the 1 second root was PITIFUL and made the ability not nearly worthwhile especially on gritted targets; you had no time to capitalize on the CC. Per the 2 second root before and after the dodge in root change, it feels pretty bad that you the target become a sitting duck simply because you were hit with a CC skill that is not telegraphed apart from a mage aggressively light rolling towards you (if you even see it coming). The 2 second root power should remain, but counter play in terms of an actual animation for this good cc skill needs to be put in place.

Ah, again healers with the only alt focus scalable weapon get shit.

I left a few days ago, was thinking on returning for the splits stats, but fuck if i’m getting more nerfs on my only available weapons.

ye nerf everything. its time for new meta

In that case every weapon should get nerfed lol

Weaken on oblivion got nerfed from 10% to 5% per stack. (Max: 3 stacks)

Oblivion’s AoE Empower was lowered from 20% to 15%.

Perk was buffed, somewhat.

Why should scream need a longer windup? Its a root not a hard cc like a stun or knockdown? And it already has one btw. The windup is very short but the character leans forwards and then the scream comes. Stun chains are more deadly than a root. Scream only makes it easier to hit these stuns. And if you dodge properly you dont need to burn all of your stam… in a clump.

10m lunge is bullshit. 7m maybe but not more. Btw the tracking and the distance your characters follows enemies while auto attacking was increased on all weapons. Except for heavies Void Blade has the worst tracking and ability to lunge after enemies while they run (except hevies). But you can dodge them properly in a 1v1 or even 1vX situation. If you want to caomplain about a weapon that lunges and has good tracking + good abilities to chase ppl while only left klicking its spear.

As I said fleche is 10m and VG heavy lunge isnt 10m. and flech is way faster.

And Scream back to a 1s root while you can dodge in roots now is a bullshit idea. Then you could just ask to remove that skill entirely.

Just a wording issue in your post (tracking is bad on Void Blade. You hit more air than enemy). The lunge is insane on heavies. but the ability to chase ppl just with light attacks is better on almost every other weapon than VG.

the perk buff is not really a good exchange for the empower and weaken nerf. I d rather take the old Oblivion perk than the new one.

But just VG is op lol. Other split stat weapons like BB,Spear,Hatchet,SnS are fine lmao

On Live, the oblivion weaken is 5% per stack and the PTR shows the same deal (unless I am mistaken I suppose). I agree and am uncertain as to why they dropped the Oblivion empower from 20 to 15%. They of course did that CDR tuning back in May however that made 10% CDR go to 5%.

Even next patch? It seems like a point tank is going to get hit more than 6 times per cd - leading to it being more useful than refreshing at the least
