I have a ryzen 5 5600x, a 6800xt. I have deleted gpu drivers and reinstalled them, I have swapped power strips and outlets on my wall. I have all brand new componets for this build, and this ONLY happens while playing new world. I have even re installed windows. I have 51 hours in the game, it started off just happening every once in a while, to now if i can make it into a game at all its for less than 5 min. BOOM, like pulling the plug pc just restarts. Event log states “Kernal-Power error event 41 task 63”. I also undervolted my gpu and reduced the allowed clockspeed to no avail.

Have you kept track of temperatures? Maybe not thermal pasted well enough? Cooling fan profile needs tweaked? Have you capped FPS to 60 or 30 or enabled Vsync in game to take some load of your gfx card? Is one of your RAM sticks faulty?
It almost surely has nothing to do with his build, look at all the other threads of people with all kinds of builds playing the game perfectly for x hours and then sudden crashes.

You’ll think this sounds ridiculous (It was my last resort too) but I have a similar build. 5600x, 6900xt, and had an 850w EVGA SuperNova. My issues were only prevalent in NW. At one point, I ran a 6900xt and a 6800 at the same time on this PSU mining with no issues. However, even clocked down to 50% max core I would get random shutdowns playing NW. I replaced my 850w with a 1000w EVGA Supernova P5 and have had no additional problems.
My total power draw at the outlet (meaning Not just GPU) is only around 400-450w, so yes, it sounds crazy. Faulty PSU? I dunno. It’s more likely that the wild power spikes this game causes were triggering overcurrent protection or something.

So my temps are solid as i cool with water cpu about 40c and gpu about 45c. I have swapped ram to no avail either. What’s weird is i have 51 hours in. It went from one reset occasionally to now it won’t load at all. Last night i reinstalled windows and wiped all my drives only downloading msi afterburner to crank my gpu voltage and frequency down. And it resets my pc. Every other game i play it’s solid games like insurgency sandstorm at 1440 use my gpu way more and my temps climb a bit but my 6800xt hangs in there like a champ and keeps swinging for the fences not a strike one. I launch new world and again it’s just like i rip the chord from the wall. Shame too i was having such a blast with it.
Yea i saw his video i have a 650w evga sfx psu because of my itx form factor just bought it 2 days before new world i don’t think i can find a 850 sfx psu but i can try. To be honest though even if i find one i won’t buy it i shouldn’t have to to play their game they need to do better with programming.
