Hello,
Recently I don’t know why but my computer is totally shut down when playing New world, and later everytime I log in after choosing the character, pc crashed and shut down.
My spec:
5900x
asus strix rtx 3090
asus rog dark hero x570 mobo
corsair dominator 3600Mhz 4*8G
Win 11, Game installed on M.2 SSD, full ek-loop with 3 radiators, temps are good
Play NW on a 5120*1440 ultrawide monitor
Every driver is up to date.
With or without cpu and ram overclocking, the crash persists. Even on all default settings.
Playing other games, all good, performance and temps are good, never had crash issue.
I played NW for about 400h, and it’s a recent problem, the first pc shut down was on 11/12/2021.
I tried reinstall the game, change some settings, cap fps, verify the game on steam, run with default bios setting, change the resolution, change to the windows mode. Nothing works!
I hope that it’s not the stupid old 30series GPU problem, I don’t have a faulty GPU. But the recent shut down has no record in windows event log. And I believe it’s GPU related.
Same here. Been happening for a couple days, now - ever since the last patch. I get a hard system crash that sends my PC into a complete restart with no warning – no freezing or lag/stutter beforehand, no BSOD or CTD; just a black screen followed by a restart. So far it has only been encountered when:
Teleporting (infrequent occurrence)
Exiting Depths (teleporting out, 1x occurrence)
When trying to log on to the game from the character selection screen (Very Frequent)
Launching the game from my Steam Library (just started today, but has happened a dozen times, and I’ve been unable to successfully launch the game at all)
System Specs:
AMD 5600x
MSI MPG X570 Gaming Edge WiFi
MSI Radeon 6900xt (reference)
G.Skill Trident Z Neo 32Gb DDR4 3600
Win 10 Home 64 bit
All drivers and Win10 are up to date. I verified the local files, and steam is up to date. I even uninstalled and reinstalled the game. Problem not only persists but is becoming more frequent.
I just hit 200 hrs play time, and this week has been the first I’ve ever encountered a crash of any type in New World.
and no more crash or shut down. I’m using the Nvidia November driver and it works too.
Don’t use the latest driver! Must be some conflicts with the latest NW patch.
If not for the driver-rollback alleviating the abrupt poweroff / crashes, I would’ve banked on this being silent PSU degradation … due to the 60fps cap inplace before selecting a character, and high power spike that occurs immediately following completing the login. {CPU / GPU use in tandem}
JoeClarence – same as above. You both have extremely high end rigs that have pretty high power-draw.
While Islei0228’s was drivers, double check that your supply can sustain a simultaneous GPU / CPU stress-test without a shutdown happening. [e.g, something like Prime95 / LinX + Unigine]
Sorry for replying so late, and thanks so much for your advice, after the driver roll-back I thought that the problem was solved until another recent shutdown.
I opened the case and want to see if something’s wrong there…and I found the 0db mode of my PSU is activated.
So stupid. It is very possible that the sudden increase in heavy load especially like NW made my PSU very hot even before the fan started to spin.
Really appreciate that, your advice helped me to find the problem.
