Pc Freeze after starting New World

Hello, first of all, i have around 680 Hours in New World, so far it allways worked, without major issues. Just the typical Bugs…

Anyway, since today i cant start New World…

When i started the Game, my Mouse nearly react ( skipping when moving )
i can close the Game via Alt + F4, but my computer still reacts extremly slow after it…

I can play other Games without Issue tho… any Idea?
What Informations are needed ?

Hope you are doing well. I’m sorry to know about the problem you are having.

Here are some steps to try to solve the issue:

  • Check for pending BIOS updates.
  • Verify that the drivers are correct and up to date: New World Compatible GPU Driver Update - Support
  • Run a file check: Steam Support :: Verify Integrity of Game Files
  • Check the EAC: Locate the game directory, and then select the “EasyAntiCheat” subfolder. Click EasyAntiCheat_Setup.exe to run the installer as an administrator, fix it if necessary.
    Note: The Steam Games installation directory will generally be in: C:\Program Files\ Steam (x86)\ SteamApps\ Common
  • Avoid using VPN, and you should remove other programs such as bots to mine or fish or to avoid being AFK. (if installed for any reason) Even overlays to get unofficial maps for the game.
  • Check out https://www.amazongames.com/en-us/support/new-world/articles/new-world-system-requirements it is very important that you are using Windows 10, because for 11, New World is not yet optimized.
  • You can try lowering the resolution in the settings.
  • If running Discord, run Discord As Administrator as well.
    After all steps above:
  • Shut down the computer completely. Turn it on, then run the Steam client as administrator, and try the game again.

i am kinda fine, hope u are well :slight_smile:
i updated my bios
checked my Amd Drivers ( R9 390)
checked the Steam Files
Repaired Easy Anti Cheat

i am not using any VPN or Bot Programms.
never will…

i use Windows 10
i lowered all resolutions to “Low” otherwise i cant play the Game anyway due to lagg fiesta specially in War

didnt have Discord Open.

Shutdown my Computer 3 times allready

Now after doing all of this, i could enter the Game, was running normal. But as soon as i Tab out of the Game, it causes Laggs, unless i go back to New World Client.

Thank you for your response. We will go ahead try some more Troubleshooting steps to fix the lag issues.

  • Restart your router and modem
  • Switch to a wired connection
  • Troubleshoot your firewall
  • Forward ports on your router

got wired connection.
the issue remains after closing the game aswell, means i have to restart my computer otherwise it he is unusable.

cpu runs at 3%, ram at 31%, hard disk at 0% connection at 0% aswell

Just checking every thread related to this issue just in case there is an actual solution that worked. I have tried every single one offered in other threads and the lag and crashes still here. Im in Malaysia and this always happens between 7pm-12am. The only time that I could play 🥲

never happened to me before :confused:
really makes no sense that the issues stay after closing the Game completly aswell

  • this only happens with New World.

League of Legends, Valheim are totally fine for me. even tho Valheim used to be an issue…

so i fixed it, after completely uninstalling the game and reinstalling it, it works as intended

Take it from me that have been facing this issue for almost a week now and tried EVERY single steps offered. Re-installing will only temporary fixed the issue. Im also guessing you tried this solution somewhere after or around midnight at non-peak hours? Try log in again around peak hours between 7-11pm. The issue will remain. If it doesnt, well lucky you sir.
