People are HARASSING me for saying I love New World

The other day I was hanging out with some friends IRL and we were just at my house playing some games, we all like to play Smash Bros together. During one of the rounds, one of my boys asked me:

“What do I do with my free time?”

I told him:

I play New World, i’m level 45 with about 70 or so hours into the game and I love taking my time crafting and exploring.

He proceeded to burst out laughing, told me I was playing some dead game and in general was putting me down for my choices in life…

Needless to say I had ended the night with my friends, I had told them ALL to get out of my house and they all started insulting me but I never cried once until they all left.

Anyways these forums are great because some of you have been very supportive of me and I look at some of you like my father figures in this community so i’m wondering if maybe you guys can help me out here.

What can I do when others are being toxic towards me for just liking the game?

Every time I talk about how much I like the game on these forums, they say i’m on “Copium” w/e that’s supposed to mean and when I go on Reddit, I get downvoted and people call me all kinds of names like “White knight trash”, etc.

I’m finding it hard to be a fan of this game with so much toxicity surrounding it’s communities :frowning:

I find it funny that so many stupid people will call you a “white knight” without even understanding what it means. Thats an IQ test right there.

They seem to think it means to defend something they don’t like.

Uhh maybe because you’re one of the people I mentioned in my post, you and some others harassed me every since I got my friend banned. You people like to think you know me so well, you follow me around every post and try to ruin it.

I wish I never even made that post now, people constantly DM me mean things and call me out on every post. I’m so tired of it…
