The economy isn’t shot…its brand new, but even if it was, the core issue isn’t lack of pvp lmao. In no way would forcing pvp somehow improve this. The real issue the market will have is each town being its own auction house and the inability to transfer items from storage to another town if your faction doesn’t control it. In reality the auctions should be linked to all towns as well as storage. Its too damn expensive to fast travel, especially if you load up your bad with items you want to bring with you to another storage.

Both of you are wrong lmao. This game doesn’t focus on either. It has both pve and pvp content. It intentionally moved away from focusing on only pvp after the alpha testing.

I’m well aware of the state of the game in alpha. I played alpha and it was a shitshow because of people who get off on killing defenseless noobs. They have no one to blame but themselves for the way the game ended up.

The 500 plus is the total accumulation from likes on various posts across the entire thread from both sides. The OP himself has a grand total of 19. That’s it from the 243 replies from 108 users so far in this thread. The majority of likes are on posts hating the idea. That is literally the definition of a rejection of the OP, who even came back and admitted as much. .

If you want more people to optionally pvp then you need to improve the pvp itself rather than offer more incentives.

It doesn’t matter how much more xp, gold or whatever you offer, people won’t flag if the pvp is bad, unbalanced or unenjoyable.

Work on getting the changes needed to improve the pvp system.

For starters steps need to be taken to reduce or outright remove the zerg fest that world pvp always ends up becoming.

Then you need systems in place to stop grieving, ganking and just outright toxic gameplay.

Next you need to make sure low level characters have a somewhat even playing field.

The entire war system needs a look at also as you’ve got next to no chance in getting into one unless your in one of the involved companies or being a friend of the guilds.

In short fix the pvp instead of trying to force people into an unenjoyable environment.

Hope you like shaking your sword at air and bragging about that  cause pretty soon it’s all your going to find  Same prob on my server, I have been staying flagged at all times and over a period of 4 days I got into 3 fights with other reds. . .2 of which just one shot me while I was fighting something else lol

i didn’t say it was a good idea. i said it was “interesting”. it has clearly generated massive interest both positive and negative. but feel free to keep debating against that obvious truth. it’s hilarious.

However this game may have been described to the alpha and beta players, (which I wasn’t), it was finally marketed as an MMO with both PvP and PvE. I’m a PvE player with no interest in PvP. If I’d been forced to flag for PvP when getting into the game, I’d have immediately returned it and asked for my money back.

Presumably, Amazon changed direction on this game at some point. I’m thinking they did so because their market research showed that there were a lot of gamers out there who might buy their game only if they could PvE in peace. Why do so many folks have trouble accepting that there are many different gaming play styles? Live and let live, folks.

Likely because PVE elements increase profits by 60%.
PVP only is stagnation, thats why there are so many battle royal games: they look dynamic because of forced interaction.
It is an adaption to a gaming world were speed overrules other aspects.
NW is slow, it is using old ideas, and it does good at that.
PVE people create gold, spend it in town, companies (that guys who like to PVP) use it to wage war. Its a perfect synergy except for those who seek open world PVP.

Nope. Well, not fully.

They pivoted because PvP players in the Alpha were seal clubbing A.K.A. Killing new players who could not fight back nonstop.
Amazon realized this would kill the gave in about a week, if allowed, and pivoted.

It’s less a matter of “interesting idea”, and more a matter of “just one more entry in long and contentious debate”.

Amazon changed their minds because they want a big game, a hit for their gaming studio and realized if they went with a solely pvp focused game it would simply a be a small niche game like gloria victus or mortal online 2 etc.

Also please no but but WOW/Eve replies as those are particular cases that wont repeat.

It’s a lot bigger than most think, just from the posts on here alone asking for it or some version of it. As for the massive new player killing that always happens at 1st then it dies off plus they usually add a starting area now where that cannot happen so new players have a chance to grasp a game and can venture out without getting decimated all the time, I went through it in ultima and darkfall and any other cut-throat mmo ive played. griefing happens in any game pvp or pve its there. but past all that i feel its enough that in the very least a few servers could be added to try it out and see what happens, and before anyone says anything about them getting stretched thin with resources…BS they can afford it

I’ll never understand people who only want to world PvP, it’s always lopsided. One faction would just bully others.

I love PvP, but in PvP game modes : BGs, arenas, not 5 dudes come gank me while I’m gathering mats PvP.

None flag players can train mobs on to you, steal your kills for skinning, steal your mobs. Please stop pretending flagging for PvP somehow protects you from grief.

If anything it is so much easier to grief people as I can do all of the above things and there isn’t a damn thing you can do about it.

How about a big fat NO. It’s bad enough with players skinning something you killed before you can get to it.

Oh, I understand them. They just want to be able to gank low level players and ruin their gaming experience. This is a normal cycle in “full” PvP games and the reason I will NEVER PvP.

yes this happens but the best part is if its scaled right and you are better at fighting you could possibly win and take all their shit, ive seen it done. also it changed the whole mind set and you have to get used to that, you have to plan your outings you cant just say hey im off to get some ore see you at dinner, you have to plan it out and make sure you are prepared to defend yourself or at least to get away. funny story in darkfall 3 guys came riding up on mounts to kill me while i was farming mats, to my surprise they all jumped off instead of trying to saddle whomp me lol so i used my speed boost to sail right past them and grabbed one of their mounts and took off. never have i had any experiences even close to stuff like that in pve/pvp games. the rush of being able to outsmart them and not having to fight at all was just as big of a rush

You need to get some professional help if you are so scared from getting ganked as a lowbie a decade ago. Does it happen? Yes. Is it this widespread rampant thing everyone keeps bringing up? No.
