So why is your idea a good idea but mounts aren’t? Are you going to act like we’ve never had husbandry and horses

You are sprinting. They changed sprint to always be on in June. Sprint used to be bound to shift by default and dodge was space. Hitting space while sprinting is a jump. Sprinting also used to prevent stamina regen.
It’s one of several things they did in the last year that made the game worse.

I’ve never liked mounts in MMOs. And I don’t think every MMO has to have them. Why does every MMO have the exact same features?

You do not need it, it is not big enough but maybe sprint will be nice. And also is nice to gather everything in direction you need to go 
IMO… Mounts are not needed for now and I vote a big NO to mounts.
Later on, I’d love to see a “Taming/Training” Professions so you go out and capture and tame an animal which then takes time & care to train it up, perhaps in a stable or enclosure upgrade as part of your home. Then you can finally get upgrades for these “pets” to be mounts or fighting companions etc. Huge potential to be different than other MMOs here. BUT, this needs to be added (if ever) much later on. Not now! It’s just started.
I would like to see a faster “Sprint” added perhaps, maybe. Keep the running and then add Sprint, maybe as a new skill or something which does decrease Stamina. But again, such new additions need to be after everyone can logon without issue and major bugs etc fixed. Let’s get a nice, working & stable game going for a few months before shouting for change or additions.
TLDR: No mounts, for now!

I don’t think the mount is the main reason for these quits, but yes, it should be added.

love idea about capture, tame and trainig
I am level 25 and my gathering (except fishing) is around level 60. I am not just walking to places, I walk there with a mission and gather materials on the way or level different weapons. (Town board projects are pretty usefull for this)
Seems like you just want to get to level 60 in no time, do some “end game” stuff and be bored again within a week. Mounts will not change this.
If you are level 10, you are either in the starting area or one further. Thats a maximum of maybe 10 minutes of walking. The world is actually pretty small.

Well, to me the reason seems to be a questionable bias in the developers vision about what the game should be. I hope they reiterate that and add mounts as one of the first features.
If mounts are the defining feature of a game for you, and will determine if you leave a game or not over that single issue, I suggest a horse taming simulator.

They actually stated they were going to be adding mounts.

The developers have no vision of there own shown by the fact they keep changing things on and off due to whatever the next streamer requests.

i cant even get in the game , mounts are really not a problem right now hahaha
If the world expands, I would see a use for the mounts, but currently the world is to small.
Adding mounts will also ruin the gathering materials aspect.
Honestly… it doesn’t have to be mounts, just speed up the dam walking or something…!
