People will quit if mounts aren't added

Ive been 60 for weeks, have 3 houses, and a bind in Shattered. I am completely done with walking everywhere all the time regardless of having all that. “Oh its just 10 minutes!” is 10 minutes I could have been doing something fun instead of alt tabbing out while I run in a straight line. You scared it’ll mess up open world PVP? Then make an obnoxiously long cool down timer from combat before being able to mount. Scared people will get nodes before you? Get a mount yourself and go wild. Its not like a horse is going to climb up a mountain or parkour jump to a ledge. Worried the world is too small? Gee, you’re right - I should spend 10 minutes running from Windsward to EF so I can “smell the roses.”

Im just so tired of people championing causes that influence a greater amount of people to quit. I was really hoping we would get a summary of player concerns from the survey that (from what I understand) AGS put up, but I never saw it and afaik didnt get disclosed. But I can almost guarantee that a major talking point was travel time and not having a mount for people.

Good choice. Advocate for what you believe improves the game, and ignore the rigid inquisitors who treat this game like a religious sacrament.

I don’t think this game needs mounts personally, but if they put them in I’m hoping they’ll only work where a camp would work.

In order to obtain a mount you must first; discovered all territories 100% (unknown locations), be max reputation with your faction, and own a tier 3-4 house. The associated cost would be 50-100k tokens in addition to 25k-50k coin. - I’m not advocating mounts but this should be standard if implemented.

Almost every MMO has a cool down on a hearth mechanic or currency cost.

The other day I ran PvP missions to fight over territory influence with roughly 50+ players. The fights were good because we clashed. There were players that ran but some got cought. Mounts would ruin this experience as there would be less battle and more retreat.

I hate mounts because it just becomes “the game picks up at mount level.”

Add out of combat travel speed on roads. Mounts will just turn it into the usual mount-find thing-dismount-get thing-mount up again.

We also need to address a few other things like the amount of items needed for refinement. Then we’ll be doing less cicular traveling.

Wasn’t this debate already settled when that person held a week long forum poll and the population overwhelmingly voted “NO” on mounts? while being pretty split on almost every other question on that survey.

Or add Zeppelins, Trains, Horse and Buggy something to get from A to B without having to run 30 mlles.

I would quit if they even attempted new content let alone mounts! The game has 0 integrity in the multiplayer aspect of the game. How can you justify a minute spent on new when the foundation is fucked.

I’d much rather see a real bug bash than any new content.

The PvP tale was an example on how mounts could change the state of open world encounters.

Mounts change how quickly you can influence the map. Companies are burnt out from the frequency of war this could further the issue.

Mounts may come after an expansion dependent on map size.
