I highly doubt your friend was banned due to talking about the war, there have been much worse conversations happening… They probably got caught with the bans for duping. No one is ever going to admit that cheated, like ever. Im absolutely sure your friend knows why they got the ban.
Massive reports still happen, so I wouldn’t be even surprised if he got a bunch of reports because - as OP says - “he was defending the Russians” and got auto-banned or something. Similar thing happened to my boyfriend, where he got banned just for making fun of the coin seller bot. Somehow he was mistaken for a bot. Tried to contact support through ban appeal (denied twice), live chat and this forum but there’s no clear solution or response.
