Perma-flagged PVP specific zones......yes please!

Kind of like the Frontier in DAoC? ESO does something like that in Cyrodil, where you necessarily are flagged for PvP once you enter the zone. But there is nothing in Cyrodil that is required for game progression. If AGS did something like that, and made the zone 100% optional, I’d be ok with that.

In a war map, I would say crafting resources should be rewards from chests inside the keeps like GW2 Server vs Server does. Only harvestable resources in a war map should be to help create siege to take or defend in my opinion. But harvesting those war resources could help with gather, refine, and craft skills.

I do miss that teamwork so much.

“OH NO! Our keep is under attack by the Midgardians”. That was like a full call to arms and players from all guilds would come to defend. Even better yet…Midgard would be assaulting a Hibernian keep only to be flanked by Albs wanting to claim that same keep! So much good times!

No issue as long as there is NOTHING that can be gather or reward in the ZOne other then XP and the PVP kill drop… no PvP/PVe game should have ever a place you MUST PvP in to play the game… So A big basicly OPR territory with NO Special resources or Chests just places to play PvP

Emain Macha! Yes! I played as an underdog Hibernia where we were outnumbered by Albions 3 to 1, and Midgardians 4 to 1. It was soo much joy!

Lets put it this way, if you want to make some end game pvp armor, and the resource’s for said armor came from said pvp zone, sure fair ball.

But if I want to make my pve armor and need pvp resources to do it so the ability to farm them myself just vanishes (Because I really really suck at pvp and having to pvp is just assumed failure) then I am out and have fun kids.

Look at it like this.

You have the regular world (stays as is, PVP opt in) and a mirrored map war zone that has capture points from all over the map that leads to taking the keep. Likewise, defending team will want to take those points to prevent offending team from even getting close to being able to take the keep.

So basically, they are completely separate instances, just operate differently for their purpose.

I was a Shield Hero on the Percival server if I remember correctly. I felt like the wilderness was vast enough that I could stumble on 1 vs 1 pvp and I had a decent chance against any other class. I think they had the pvp class balance nailed down pretty well too.

1v1 pvp…5v5…zergs or even just standing at your enemies wall taunting them to come out and play!

All the same resources should be available to everyone but maybe just a bit more abundant in the more dangerous zones.

I am not suggesting separate equipment, more, separate maps like in DAOC. I think this is where folks get confused because of all the full loot PVP players advocating on other threads.

There are PVP platforms that do not advocate for full loot free for all PVP. ESO has a system like we are talking about, so does GW2, so does DAOC, and I believe even Elyon is similar.

Were you a mini moose? I was a Keen Shadeblade, then Keen Shadepierce on Percival.

PS: Do you remember the Keen march on Percival that lead to them creating the mini moose :stuck_out_tongue:

bring back Emain

I did not stick with ESO long enough to enjoy the PVP. I did venture into Cyrodil once or twice. I personally am not the hardcore PvP’er. I have days that I enjoy it and some days where I just want to mindlessly gather/craft/quest.

No moose here…just your typical human looking fellow. My buddy was a Furbolg though. LOL

Yes! DAOC was my fav MMO for 7 years. I would LOVE to see PvP Zones. I especially loved Darkness Falls dungeon.

Darkness Falls was amazing! I do believe that was the one with Legion at the end, yes?

This type of suggestion has been repeatedly put forth. And still a lot of players respond the same way they have before: quit tying PvE rewards to PvP.

Instead give uniquely singular awards for PvP players that are directly related to PvP. There are so many games that do this already. Unique armors, weapons, trinkets, along with potions, achievements, titles, foods, and more. Tie them all together with benefits directly related to PvP play.

Actually, I think the premise for this thread is actually more about the PVP zones, not so much the rewards. So not sure what you mean.

Weeellll… the balance was not there at launch or for a couple of years at least. Dragon fang still stings my buttocks. And my Left axe never really did recover :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
