PERMANENTLY Banned without Playing the game?

Hello, I’ve purchased new world to play with a friend who recently heard about the big incoming patch. and somehow, for some unknown reasons, he’s perm banned and can’t post on forums so i’m making this post for him.

So when new world launched my Friend played it for a while, reached level 60 and decided to take a break until they got more content in the game.

He recently heard there’s a big update and decide to log in the game to find out that he got permanently banned for “Disruptive Behavior”?

Now, Before he stopped playing the game in Novermber 2021, he was NOT banned. the last thing he remember doing before he quits was playing outpost. he did outpost for a couples days before getting bored and have not done anything else before he quit the game.

Now then, he did Appeal the Decision as he highly believe this is an error. A few days later he received an E-mail that seems to be an automatic response stating that “the original disciplinary sanction was well-founded” and that his account will remains permanently banned.

So he kept investigating and went to their Live chat support, tried to get some help from there but he was told that they cannot deal with this kind of issue on Live chat and the conversation ended there. So he decided to give another shot to Appeal the Decision. he made another appeal, Waited several days just to receive the EXACT same Copy/Paste as I received previously.

for a third time, he decided to appeal, but it’s been over a week without a reply from AGS support now. We decided to try to get some help from the forums as clearly AGS support is getting no where. What a bad customer support.

He is angry to receive a PERMANENT Ban for absolutely NO reasons as he wasn’t even playing the game. Last time he played New world was in November 2021.

I, on my end feel like I purchased new world for no reasons as I can’t even play with my friend and can no longer receive a refund from steam. If I knew customer support was this bad I probably wouldn’t have invested $50 CAD In this game. Very disappointing Amazon.

Hopefully I’ll be able to get some help on forums.

You have to keep opening support tickets on a daily basis.
AGS outsources customer support and they are incentivised to close out tickets with or without resolution, it’s how they get payed.
Company providing support will be penalized for not being able to close out support ticket if unresolved and bumped for actual AGS review.
They will always thank you for playing New Ark, cheeky fellas.
PS forum staff is only in place to censor posts and will not be able to help, one of them will come along shortly to echo said sentiment.

Here I have the same problem with this support, they gave me a ban for 7 days, it’s not clear why, well, it’s okay, after 7 days I was updated the ban for another 7 days, while I didn’t even have time to enter the game

You were banned for either the trophy glitch or the trade glitch. They are actively reviewing those and will be providing either temporary bans, unbans, or permanent bans depending on what you did.

I have no idea what trophy even are, keep in mind i’m new to the game (currently level 29) still learning how the game works lol, but i’ll ask him if he knows about those bugs that were in place

I myself didn’t exactly dupal trophies, but I actively trade and make exchanges, it’s very disappointing that if I come across a duped trophy, I suffer because of it

Did you make trades on the day the trade glitches were happening? Did anyone mysteriously cancel but you kept the items or gold?

Did you place more than one type of trophy per house?

i bought 3 major luck trophies for 70 each, that’s a good price for them
if they provided some kind of evidence on which I was banned, there would be no questions at all

It’s a shame that this can happen to anyone and nothing can be done about it

You didn’t answer the question. Did you put more than one luck trophy per house? Did that trade timeout or not go through properly? Was it a manual trade for the trophies? Did you keep the gold after the trade?

I put one trophy in the house and the gold went to the seller, there were no thoughts how to cash in, you understand the problem is that they gave one ban immediately after it another ban I didn’t even have time to enter the game I think that after 2 bans there will be 3.3 times in a row and 3 is the last ban forever

and support uses bots that respond according to a pre-written wording

AGS customer service must stop sending automatic responses and start acting like an actual customer service ASAP…

NGL the title baited me in hard.
Just because he hasnt played the game since doesnt mean the ban wasnt deserved. Just because he cant remember how he behaved or what he did doesnt mean its not deserved.
While he may have a clean record and been wrongly banned (in which case keep sending support tickets). There is also a possibility he behaved in some wrong many when he did play and the ban was issued after he quit (cause bans dont matter if you are active or not). He could have been toxic in VC or Text, could have been spam reported (was used to get people banned so they couldnt participate in pvp/wars, the dark days of NW), could have used bots, could have spam reported people and they have proof he was doing it.
Either way continue sending support tickets and see if they can answer why. While it is a bummer you cant refund (granted you should have been able to refund as long as you didnt play for longer than the refund window), I dont think knowing customer service was bad would have impacted the purchase as most people dont ever think they will interact with CS. (plus most people know amazon has garbage service)
I hope your issue is resolved and I hope this sheds some light on why its possible he got banned.

update: He made another ticket yesterday cause people said to keep making tickets, waiting on a reply.

@BaguetteMan your friend has a ban because he bought an item on trading post that was made by a cheater. Hundreds of people got perma banned because of that. Unfortunately ban appeals gives automatic responses that are the same for every player. Also 0 information about when and if they will do anything about that. Every topic on forum is getting closed or deleted.

Considering it says “Disruptive behavior”, no.

If the reply email from AGS would have been transparent about why a player is banned, we would have not seen such posts like this. Sigh.
