mutations absolutely agree, wars will never change, we are a ranged weapon in light armor. No buff is going to open that many slots, it will always be just a few. unless they make meteorshower a massive AOE stagger even then, it will still be majority of frontliners with ig/bg/vg and a couple of dex/firestaffs/skitzos.
Back in the day, Firestaff was slotted for war. Before they nuetered our boy Refreshing Pillar and Pillar itself (multiple times) .

they should link Ice Gauntlet to Firestaff like you get more benefit if u play those 2 weapons together. Lower the IG and fs impact as secondaries of other weapons combo: example bb,
they should improve the slow everytime you do something
they should rework IG and FS few abilities
they should make some buffs for heavy medium mage aswell
they should make it usefull in wars where the class was supposed to excell. now mage are refused. Only VG is greatly used in wars, it’s support, not DPS.
they should make it more viable in OPR.

FS was desirable because it had the ability to burst clumps. We no longer have the burst, thus FS is no longer in wars. It’s as simple as that.
I just want minor tweaks to bring it up to par. I don’t know what needs to be done exactly, but definitely something.
I don’t want to see FS because FOTM like bow did though.

I swear I have been playing since release, and I’ve tried every class, and playing mage is a hell right now. Both in PVE and PVP. They first removed all the damage mages had, but at least we were able to scape. After so many changes on stamina and rolls, now we can do literally nothing. If you stop for a second to throw a spell, it will get iframed, and even if it’s not they’ll tank it because there’s literally no damage on it. So I guess there’s one thing you can do as a mage: run.

Bump. Or even play high mutations, or arenas. I’m sure no one in the balance team plays the game as a mage, it’s been 6 months since mages are useless and we just get more nerfs month after month. Do they want us to stop playing? I don’t get it. What’s an MMO without mages?
the main issue that none of the devs or designers are playing mages
the ultimate proof is brimestone sands weapon rewards and generally named mage weapons,
while you get pretty much most of the melee weapons at 605+ at brimestone sands msq & side quests, you get a single 590 fire staff (pretty shitty one tbh) and not a single ice gauntlet
most of the named Ice Gauntlets and FS are pretty much garbage
I’m not even gonna talk about the Kit-less, identity’less, dogshit fire-staff abilities
Give mages some love, learn to adjust and balance things out because in the past year you have proven how incompetent your team is
It is obviously hard to balance an MMORPG like New World but for god sake, the current state of the game is unacceptable after 1 year+ (Not even gonna mention the MASSIVE performance issues)
