Petition/Proposal to improve PvP

ISSUE: Currently very few people are flagging for PvP. The reasoning is that they want to hit level 60+ immediately so they can actually be useful in PvP. Essentially, players currently believe PvE is a faster way to hit the max level cap and enjoy the game, thus avoiding PvP altogether. Is that necessary though?

If the logic is that PvE = faster leveling, then there is an imbalance in the game mechanics to incentivize different play styles.

SOLUTION: I propose that the incentives for flagging PvP should be increased to incentivize more players. The 10% boost is not enough to encourage players at the moment. PvP flag boost should include boosts to all skills, experience, faction reputation, and gathering. For instance:

  • +15% experience boost
  • +5% weapon mastery and gathering skill boost
  • +5% increase to luck for item drops and gathering
  • +5% increased gathering speed
  • +10% increased faction reputation and tokens for all PvP kills outside of PvP modes.
  • +10% increased territory standing for PvP kills within the player’s respective faction territory.

These numbers don’t need to be fixed, I trust the team to implement them however they deem best. However I believe by implementing a simple perk/boost upgrade these could immediately incentivize players to flag for PvP and improve the experience for those of us who bought the game primarily for PvP. It would balance out the current inequality/advantage of PvE players, grinding, etc., and overall improve the experience for new players as well who are not content with mindless grinding.

I’m sorry for flooding the forum with more complaints… I genuinely have no clue how difficult it is to develop a game but I feel that the changes I’m proposing could be implemented relatively quickly. As it stands the game feels as if it’s 95% PvE and 5% PvP IF you can manage to be welcomed into a war. The open world PvP and PvP missions are either non-existent or repetitive/mundane, emphasizing zergs solely rather than 1v1, skirmishes, etc.

Of course there is no issue if a player wants to focus on PvE, level up their character and crafting skills, etc., but what about the rest of us who prefer PvP? I’ve enjoyed this game more than any other MMO in literally 10+ years, but every time I play I’m left thinking if there will be anything for me 2-4 weeks from now.

I think there is plenty to improve with PvP, but as a community we should focus on what is immediately possible so we can have fun while the team works on building the game. I hope the rest of the community will join me in discussing what kind of perks could be implemented immediately, while we wait for new features, modes, and expansions in the future.

And the incisive not to flag will be the large group of max lvl ppl sitting outside of town, that outweighs any boost u can add to flagging pvp

Why would people camp outside of town if they have max weapon mastery, faction rep, tokens, etc? There is no incentive to do that by implementing these changes.

What it would encourage is flagging while mining, fishing, harvesting, questing, etc. Creating groups to get the stat/luck boost while out engaging in these activities, etc. It would make the game far more dynamic. People could get into wars just gathering or questing, etc.

To Grief others? Have u never played these types of games? U may not but I garentee u it will happen. Hell its already happening

lol it’s not happening at all. I’m flagged 100% of my playtime and I get into at most 1-2 PvP fights while leveling. Unless I go after PvP missions it’s unlikely I get into a battle, but even with PvP missions the battles have been skim.

Came out of Everfall.
Three covenants flagged up camping there.

Also don’t forget that the game is just launched 5-6 days ago.
A lot of people still need to learn to fight, get some good gear, level up a little bit, explore the world.

Same for me, first time MMO.
I tought PVP is a thing for later. I first want to know how this game works, experience it, do some quest’s, see the ‘world’, get some gear and stuff.

But everybody already complains about things, want to add and change things. Just give the game a few weeks to get ‘stable’.

I think in a few weeks more and more people will be flagged up.
I am level 26 know, know better how to fight and since yesterday I always flag up for PVP when I leave a settlement.

Also, I must say, 90% of the flagged up players I come across… are groups of 3-4 players…
Isn’t really inviting to other people to flag up…

A lot of people on the forum are complaing about it, but the most only seem to flag up with 2-3 other players with them.

At this moment of the game, just after launch. The most players just simply care about other stuff…
Same for me. I don’t buy a new game like this to just go PVP on the same day or after a few days.
I didn’t even know how 80% worked in the game yet.
Let players reach level 20+, let them get some gear and learn how to fight properly and soon a lot more people will be flagged up for PVP is my guess

The game was so hyped, so much queue time’s, people couldn’t play and maybe thing they are running behind now. people are focused on leveling know.

I haven’t had the experience of running into flagged groups, but won’t discredit yours. I think adding those perks would balance that out though, since it could encourage more people to create groups.

I personally don’t care about leveling at all. If i could enjoy consistent open world PvP and take my time with the rest that would be more enjoyable then hitting level 60, getting any items, etc.

Guess it all depends on the server ur on cuz it def happens, if it’s not happening yet it mostlikly will happen eventually as more ppl lvl

Exactly, I think in a few weeks more and more people will be flagged up and I would like that. PVP 1 vs 1 and not just 1 vs 3 or stuff.

At this moment a lot of people just want to do there quests, or level up or craft and I think they don’t want to get killed while mining, 5 min later when they walked back get killed again

also gotta think about the working people… gonna wait 1-2 months to hit level 60 so you can enjoy what was supposedly a core feature of the game?

I’m asking for a stat/perk boost to balance things out, not to release an expansion and new features next week. I don’t think these sort of changes would effect the PvE people at all since they can just continue unflagged…

I will never flag for OW PvP and if you make the incentives so large it feels like you HAVE to I and many others will just quit the game. Stop trying to force PvE players into flagging.

I think that a big, really big amount of the players didn’t bought the game for (just) PVP.

I feel you

How is this forcing you or any other play to flag for PvP? Seems like the PvE community just has a visceral reaction to the PvP community lol.

You can quest, gather, do whatever you want at the same rate. We get a minor boost so we can level at the same pace while also enjoying a feature we love, i.e. PvP.

As I said, these numbers aren’t fixed. I don’t care what they are, they are just intended to encourage more PvP. But right now the game is heavily benefiting PvE to the disadvantage of PvP.

Because Luck is so important to getting the rare materials you need to craft anything past the first tier and a lot of us are having a hell of a time getting any even with luck gear on, luck on tools, luck food, etc… That extra luck is going to feel like it’s mandatory but I am not and never will be good at PvP, nor do I have any interest in being so. I find it stressful so if I feel like I have to flag to get that extra gathering luck I will have to uninstall because it won’t be worth it. I am not alone in this. It has come up in many threads on many platforms over and over and always the dedicated PvE people have to draw the line at gathering luck for being flagged.

so don’t include luck. i’m absolutely fine with that. like i said, make the numbers whatever is best, but PvP players shouldn’t be at disadvantage either. If you want to grind all day and not be slowed down by PvP fights I’m cool with that. But i personally would enjoy the game more taking my time and having battles here and there rather than grinding.

Remove scaling, add stagger, refine gvg siege weapons and most if not all pvp issues are solved.
