Placing tents on resources to grief and manipulate trading post prices

(southeast ap delos)
something needs to be done not only about placing camps but those who place the camps, my reports on problems seem to go nowhere so here i am with video proof in the hopes there are some consequences

we should be able to destroy camps/tents.

Yes.

AGS employees have yet to try and farm materials on their day off to have them be blocked by tents.

The day an AGS dev / CM experiences the frustration of this issue in game is the day they will fix it.

imagine the ags team not only having to compete with people placing camps on resources but also:

  • people taking advantage of a speed glitch so you can never reach a node before them
  • people getting mobs to attack you so it stops you harvesting so they can steal it
  • bots literally everywhere running on set paths night and day collecting resource that people actually playing could use

i mean yeah. IDK about the speed hacks but the other two for sure. If you know the spawns sometimes you can drag mobs on them too.

Its more just one more thing for pve players to have to deal with when all they wanna do is go farm some resources. Especially after the merges forced everyone onto crowded servers it was nearly impossible to farm resources, and has only recently become an option during low population hours.

there is currently an exploit with the shield people are using to run faster, i myself have never tried to pull a mob onto someone but i know my mate tried to do it back to someone who did it to him but they never transfer agro onto the other person according to him.
where i am from there are only 2 servers so that makes it worse for crowding

This was brought up last weekend to the team, I’ll be sure to escalate it and bump up the priority!

There needs to be randomly rotating spawn points throughout the world.

A dynamic spawn node system. This would definitely take more work but it is the answer to this problem, as well as help alleviate problems with bots.

It’s mostly people combating bots not so much griefing or manipulating prices. It will make a bot get stuck on a node until the person comes back. Granted it shouldn’t be allowed on or too near nodes.

I’ll reiterate my suggestion here:

  1. Several people can harvest a node, everyone gets equal share. Except the first person has already had 50% of the harvesting circle full, in that case that person get 60% and the rest get equal parts of the remaining 40%.
← This has still some competition going that’s tied into New World’s concept of open world PVP (some people always gather flagged) and New World’s economy in general.
  2. Slightly randomized node spwan points in a specific area known for that resource.
← That makes botting significantly harder and also gathering a bit less repetitive and thus more fun imo.

i am on a locked server meaning these are old bots that are yet to be banned and also global chat is pointing at one guild specifically doing this to manipulate market prices of a resource (which has doubled in price since this started)

I take the tent as my spawn point to lock that bot out of the resource too. xD

I’m against a multi hit system as bots will still be a thing.

not so much if you combine it with randomized spawn points, that’s why I said do both

Ah I see sorry about that. What about a tapped system? Wow does this where the first person to touch a node or monster etc gets exclusive credit to said node.

This could create an issue where people quickly tap a bunch of nodes in an area to get the claim?

However the shared system could also be a big benefit but that’s already kind of built in to a node spawn where there is one big node and two smaller ones.

I just like a tapped system because it would also solve the issue of people griefing and dragging mobs over to you while gathering.

What if you could only tap one singular resource node at a time and trying to tap another one reset your progress like gathering water?

That way everyone can hit one part and at least secure their stuff.

That being said aggro is in desperate need of a rework as well

maybe a 15 second lock on nodes once someone has tapped them but not an altogether lock cause i know i accidently hit a bunch of stuff and then cancel
