This seems to make no sense in the section talking about LUCK while cutting down a tree.
Why would we get a 5% chance at a rare items when we have 10k Luck, but only 0.00001% if we have 5k Luck. This is Broken if that is how it works, and also explains why loot when gathering is terribly broken.

Why? Cause if you multiply 0.00001 by 2 you get 0.00002, and that is not 5%…
5% can be interpreted as a value 5/100 or 0.05/1.00

I certainly hope that value explained in the DEVBLOG was incorrect. Otherwise that just adds fuel to the fire that countless others in the FORUMs have complained about, including me and friends that I play NW with…

Seriously who the hell bumped their head when coding the loot system…

Continuing the discussion from [Dev Blog] Update on Current Issues #2:

  1. it might help to not quote the whole 500 pages of text but only the relevant part…
  2. those numbers are completely made up.
  3. you have a threshold at where youre able to get the loot by chance X (0.00001). raising your luck values increases your chances to get loot by a flat number, means you can effectively have then a chance Y (5%…) to get the item.

Still a number, and still uses math, and you can still say its a percentage.
5% LUCK (5000 * 0.00001 = 0.05)
10% LUCK (10000 * 0.00001 = 0.10)
50% LUCK (50000 * 0.00001 = 0.50)
100% LUCK(100000 * 0.00001 = 1.00)

And doesn’t match how they are calculating it, and how the game displays the text for it either.
As one language shows a number like 1700, and another language shows 0.01

ok. have fun with your math
