You can communicate to others (including critiquing) without being offensive. You seem to be completely overlooking/ignoring that, and that seems like the crux of the issue. I don’t see anyone in the game really complaining about being told they’re bad - the complaints are about the other behavior surrounding those statements.
Alternatively, let’s use your logic somewhere else:
‘Oh, officer! I’m sorry I punched that guy in the face 15 times! But, really, I did not like how he looked. So that makes it HIS PROBLEM that I beat him unconscious! I don’t see why you’re arresting me! He should have just ignored my fist!’
I understand that there are no Code of Conduct violations. However, like what _Krighton said in his argument, the block button is there for a reason. If people are easily offended on the game, then block button is there. Mass reports are specifically used for illegal things in game (like bots who are selling gold). What is the point of mass reporting the enemy guild/faction when the entire purpose of this game is having a PVP content. Not all of us players just do PVE dungeons or Gear Score Farming in Myrkguard, we have wars because it’s part of the game. Not to mention that the people in my company that got banned NEVER said anything offensive on global chat. They simply just advertise their items to sell on global chat. I understand if people get mass reported if they violate Terms of Services. None of my friends actions are against that.
So you’re equating true physical harm, to calling someone an idiot? I mean, that’s a typical snowflake response. I’m pretty sure calling someone an idiot never put them in the hospital. But it’s okay. I get it. Your logic makes total sense in the current emotional climate you appear to live in.
If it was FF14 he might have a point in getting in trouble for calling someone bad lol.
But Amazon isn’t that strict, and the majority of what I’ve seen has involved offensive language that is a clear violation.
Now, could you please tell me why a DIRECT violation of the Code of Conduct (weapon exploit to win war) PROVEN by video and sent by AT LEAST 20 players results in nothing? ALL of our players just received a generic answer, and no ban was applied nor a penalty?
You are making up the reason or can you cite me where the block feature is designed to replace the report one?
Yes, it is, and it’s not meant to replace reporting functionality. Blocking solves the issue for you, and reporting (over time/at scale) solves the issue for everyone. These are not exclusive things.
its subjective to whoever reads the comment no? it can replace the report button if its subjective to the person reading the comment? Doesn’t mean the entire population of New World feels that way if there’s only 1000 people who don’t like the comment present on the global chat?
not everyone feels the same way though? I doubt that the whole New World population will be offended…? Especially for saying “meaow” on global chat?
That’s why you don’t use inappropriate language that can be seen as offensive. Players don’t ban players, Amazon does. The perceived intention by Amazon is all that matters.
This type of enforcement isn’t going to change, so you should learn on how to conduct yourself in a mature and appropriate manner to avoid such penalties.
tell me, how is saying “meaow” and advertising your items on global chat offensive?
Where did ‘meaow’ come into this? The people complaining about being banned for inappropriate behavior/chat, etc are likely saying a lot more than ‘meaow’.
You’re the only one that’s just now mentioned that in this topic - literally jumping to extremes. Illogical and a bit toxic IMO.
I don’t see it as offensive, yet there is no evidence that is what has caused penalties. Advertising items multiple times can be seen as Spam, and a spam report is acceptable if it’s repetitive. Amazon is able to see this information.
Penalty errors do happen unfortunately, but there is an appeals process to have it reviewed by someone else.
I’m trying to fight for my first post that I created all the way up there. Not whatever is being talked in this thread here.
a) That wasn’t a part of your first post above, and b) if you’re off-topic then maybe swap over to a different topic? Makes no sense why you’re even involved, then.
^ This is literally my first post to open this discussion, so what are you saying that it’s not part of my first post? I created this general discussion, so I would stay here and not swap to a different topic, thanks anyway.
Did any of them appeal the ‘meow’ ban and get it overturned? I’ve yet to see an overturn notification. Would be great to see it shown here.
A mass report doesn’t auto ban you. Either the GM made a mistake, or they found a ToU violation.
They’re trying right now, although they’re a bit hesitant cause sometimes the ticket takes as long as the ban to get resolved
