This way people can contact the seller for custom negotiations if the seller chooses to “display seller’s name” when they sell/post thier items on the TP. I think this option will increase sales and help a somewhat stagnant market.

Showing the seller’s name could be used to target and harass players. It also could create opportunities for mass reporting because people simply want to target a player who chooses to invest a large part of their time in the market. I can see this being a very risky double edged sword.
If they introduced this feature then I think the seller should have the opportunity mark themselves as anonymous if they wish.
Secondarily, a HUGE QoL feature would be to aggregate all stackable goods into one single result in the trading post if the features of the transaction are the same so the buyer only sees listings of materials at different price points not by actual sales orders. Then always handle it as first to be listed are the first to be sold.

Yes, the point is, if some guy receives 3-4 messages about his listed items on the TP, he will start spamming the chat requesting offers thinking he hit the jackpot…or simply increase the price

This is a great idea, I think it definitely should be implemented. Its like this in ESO and I have frequently reached out to people asking for custom items.

Right or sometimes the buyer needs a little more time, has other items to offer as trade etc., it can be a win-win, so long as you aren’t too scared to negotiate a little lol.
Million percent agree with this. Terribad idea to show seller names imho.
Ok… to be fair, I missed the “optional” portion of this. I guess it’s fine if it’s optional.

I understand your fear but it would only be an option, one you don’t have to partake of, you’ll still be safe.

Yeah. Works on the forums too. I got nailed by that glitch due to some jerk thought I was trolling him (I wasn’t) by asking reasonable questions that everyone else in the same thread was asking so he got me 24hr banned from posting here lol.
This would be a great way for gold sellers to transfer the coin… I can see 50k a unit for green wood being listed within the hour of this feature going live. Think about it they would no longer have to try to meet up with the other person to trade, it could simply be posted on the trading posts.
It would also lessen the amount of real human interaction that you have to have on a bot account to make money, TP bots are already active and working, and now the gold sellers would not even have to have any interaction it could just all be scripted…
It could be just with crafted gear and weapons etc
The same problem is you will have 200 GS weapons going for close to the gold cap(which would not technically be a violation of the TOS since it’s only in-game currency). It’s a cool idea don’t get me wrong but the potential for abuse is just so extreme.
