I understand that such drops are designed as “chase” rewards to encourage players to participate and to pay attention to news updates, but new players wouldn’t have known about that as it was before they even started playing the game.
If it is possible, I’d like to request some of the old twitch drops that were popular to come back from time to time in “anniversary” events later down the line. An example of this would be how Square Enix brings back the Falcon mount from the stormblood expansion every now and then in the moogle tomestone event.
