Please change it so that town board quests only give out quests that can be completed within the town

Re: town board gives me a quest to make 30 silk. Town only has t3 loom which can’t make silk. Means I gotta go to another town.

I feel not only does it not make sense in a lore perspective but its also fairly annoying.

I mean I get the end justifies the means but why would a town want you to go to another town and pay their taxes(crafting fee) when the current town needs the money as well.

I do agree with this. The quests for mats should be completed with the resources available at the time in that specific town. If the tier of the crafting station is not high enough for a town quest to be completed, then it should not offer that specific quest.

Well the thing is, all towns can have all levels of crafting stations. So I think that’s why you get all types of stuff to make.

Hunting would be the same. I’ve had stuff for goats in FL, and they’re found all the way in Great Cleave!

A/H has it for .14 a piece

Hunting is fine. But refining and crafting forces me to sometimes use other towns due to the tier not being enough in the town giving the quest.

I was just using that as an example.

There are goats in Mourningdale

Wut

I looked them up and they only said Great Cleave! Poo

Mourningdale - Goats here :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Goats are in Great Cleave, Reekwater, Ebonscale and Mourningdale.

OMG I love you all for the info!

And back to the OP, okay I see what you mean. But with the way that settlements ebb and flow with invasions and wars, things can change very quickly.

Well that explains why I can’t find any for my Windsward town board quests. Guess I’ll drop those for now.

I agree, I just don’t think it would be difficult to filter out town board quests that don’t meet the town resource requirement. Re: town board has a chancr for layered leather turn in to pop, it checks to see if the town is able to allow players to make layered leather, it cannot…another quests replaces it for a quest the town can complete etc etc.

Layered Leather is like .65 on the Trading Post.

I agree, it seems like it already has a skill check vs the player. So in theory they could change that code to then also check the level on quest refresh. The only issue I could see is what kind of backend lag this would generate.

There are also goats in EF on the mountains in the west
