Please for the love of god, create a trade channel for people to post WTS and WTB stuff. The Trading Post leaves A LOT to be desired, and not everyone wants to sell/buy their things on this platform. It works well for cheaper products, but for the more expensive items, the tax and listing fees you have to front isn’t exactly welcoming for people especially as there is already an eceonomy problem with incoming gold. As a result, there are a lot of players that end up using the Global channel to advertise their products.

The trade spam in global is increasing by the day. We really could use a separate channel for it.

I feel like they wouldn’t have created a tax and listing fee if they wanted to encourage players to bypass that mechanic and evade said taxes. Your problem is valid, you don’t have to like everything the devs do, but your solution sounds kind of counter-intuitive.

This is a very good idea for two reasons.

Usually I don’t like trading channels in mmo games, however, if someone doesn’t like them, they can disable those channels. If that channel is missing, players will spam global chat, which is annoying, because probably not everyone who would disable a trading channel wants to disable the global chat.

In New World I would actually like a trading channel to be able to actually trade items, you know, I give you this, you give me that. In an mmo with survival elements and partially low player numbers on servers this gives kinda a more survivalist vibe and feel. “Hey, I’ve got a good logging axe, would someone trade vs. a good skinning knife?” I would have loved to be able to do that when coin transfer was disabled.
Then of course for especially rare items you can’t set easily a price for, to gift crappy items (someone wants that?) etc. a trading channel would be great.
Another way could be to add the possibility to the trading post, to not set an item for sale, but to allow potential buyers to whisper the seller and go into negotiation with them.
