The server merges for US EAST start at midnight. This is within the game’s War Siege (and Invasion Siege) window.
Players spend hours doing the most RNG content in the game (Influence pushes), and pray they get a chance to declare. If they don’t succeed, they often bid and pay extra to get the rights to buy the war.
Once they have it, they spend time prepping for it (roster planning, strats, vod reviews, practicing, buying consumes, etc).
This is dozens of hours and time that is now gone… down the drain with a small ‘pity’ refund of 15k.
Selfish as it may be, I need to try (as a defender who was excited for the MOST competitive war we had in a long time), and as sympathy for our attackers who put in so much work.
PLEASE delay server merges by 30minutes. Let us have our war that we had to ‘earn’ as players. Don’t make us wait another week of invasions, influence pushes, and failed declarations for us to access the most fun content in the game.
CANCELLING WARS:
is a downer for the streamers/viewers who were looking forward to the war (ex: shoutcasters)
invalidates all the time we (as players) put into the influence pushes (sometimes 2-5 hours)
cuts out all the excitement we had to play the game
means we now have to wait 4+ days before we can try again (they might not get the dec again, and invasions push back war content)
our evening plans now need to change
So, for the sake of our love for war content, pvp, and this game, I HAVE to try.
Please wait at least 30minutes after the scheduled US EAST merger time for players to have their midnight wars.
And in the future, give us a 4-5 day headsup for this kind of thing so we can CHOOSE NOT TO declare during downtimes. Or let us reschedule wars, please.
The territory ownership for worlds that are merging is not transferred with the merge - only the destination world retains territory ownership (and those worlds do not experience downtime at the time of the merge, so any wars on destination worlds can go forward with no interruption). Territory owners should be reimbursed for the land ownership lost in a merge.
War declarations should not be possible on the worlds set to merge once they are confirmed for merge either, so if you were able to declare after the messaging went up, let us know. If this war was declared and not already canceled when we posted messaging on the world, let us know too.
This is a war on Castle of Steel ( world that getting merged Intoi) and war is set at 12 East tonight. So because of downtime people will lose this war? Edit : sorry I got couple beers on lunch break so my understand is slow. Merged into worlds shouldn’t have downtime if I understand well
Correct, we are on CoS and the world’s Silha and Pluto (iirc) are merging into ours. Our territory ownership will not be affected.
Our problem is they declared war on us (Brightwood CoS) after our invasion on Tuesday at midnight (it ended at 12:30amwhich is when the enemy declared. Technically it was declared Wednesday since it was midnight).
The server merge post was announced on Tuesday.
The players declared on Tuesday/Wednesday (technically).
We assume it happened this way because the siege window was midnight and maybe things got messed up as a result?
Correct, worlds that are the destination world (those that are getting other worlds merged into them) do not experience downtime - wars, invasions, planned PvP fun, whatever you got goin’ on, will not be interrupted as we do not put those worlds into maintenance.

Could this be added to the forum announcement during future mergers? A lot of players ended up panicking as a result but thats simply because information is hard to find

@Kay@Aenwyn@Shadowfox - while we have your ear, you may want to look at the declare on Everfall last night on Orofena. A company from Ohonoo (the sever that is merging into Orofena) made alts, got them to 10 and transferred alts from other servers to declare snipe the zone. You can tell by global chat / faction chat last night, the company leader is a lvl 42, and check the lvl of the turn ins. The company is even called “COULDNT KILL LVL 10s”. They declare sniped it so they can toss it to their main company after the merge tonight. I reported this in game, but I have no clue if its getting to the right people.
This is the kind of toxic behavior that kills servers and has plummetted the population. We have been begging you guys to address the toxic behavior of shell companies and yet we can’t get a mention of it in the dev videos. Those of us still here love the game, but all the new content / perk changes in the world won’t help one of the biggest reasons people quit, toxic shell companies destroying servers and economies. They block content, bypass intended game design and soak the economy’s gold and resources.
