Another selfish opinion thrown by an individual perspective of a matter.
Game is called new World, not my new bedroom.
How would it not help the settlement?
Here⦠Linking trading posts is meant to solve a problem. What is that problem?
Why are you asking me a question as a counter question without answering my question?
The problem is outter regions are abandoned causing ever fall and windsward being the only profitable regions.
Is that a not problem?
Much better than just standing in town doing nothing. At least entering a dungeon is a bit more realistic the way it is now.
Ebonscale, Mountainhome, and Reekwater are about to become the most populated cities.
Also, what happens if the majority of 60s only use Mountainhome TP?
This game just lack identity. Is it a crafting and market style game, is it PvP, PvE? Where is it going? Whatās the long term plan? I canāt put my finger on it.
I can tell you if they link the trading posts, then naturally after that would be linking storage or at least making transporting it easy, then we are moving to a more simple WoW style game. Just camp your favorite town only leaving when itās war time or whatever.
Leave the trading post unlinked then we need more reasons to use those markets and craft in those zones. A more complex Eve style game.
Right now it just feels like they took a bit of fat from each MMO and tried to make it work.
Thatās a logistic amazon is going to have to figure out. To be fair I can openly admit I donāt know how that would work out.
I am inclined to agree as combining the markets is essentially killing the element of zone specific materials. It also kills off the aspect of trade and the value of specific items varying by town. For example, a town with a t5 kitchen has a need for cooking oil but maybe not enough on the market so the price is higher due to low supply and high demand.
This change is like the GE in RuneScape. It singlehandedly killed off player trade by making it just easy to get anything you need from one hub. Making the overall game easier and the main reason hardcore is as popular as it is.
This change will just make it easy to obtain whatever items you want at any town without the need to go anywhere at all. Yes it makes it very convenient and many enjoy that but it kills off alot of player market interaction that adds interesting elements to player driven markets.
I mean the reason the center territories have big markets is because thatās where other people shop and itās upgraded. Itās not the intention for every town to be maxed out clearly and so far people (unwisely) spent way to much to upgrade their town to try and attract people away and it did not work. Now the point is even if Reekwater has this new system other than potions and maybe some food for expeditions I highly doubt anyone will be purchasing in Reekwater but rather, they may purchase goods sold in Reekwater in Everfall or Windsward. So yeah less revenue. Again my understanding is the listing fees were previously a money sink and if that is the case I would totally be behind taking all the fees and evenly diving those up between towns. Itās just on a server like mine by owning Windsward and Everfall we are just breakeven with keeping the territories upgraded with constant invasions and upkeep.
Reekwater has lots of nodes and skinning opportunities which people sell for cheaper directly there to avoid travel costs. However with outpost rush these have ultimately just gone away entirely.
To see if you understand the problem.
Youāve swapped the problem and solution.
Think of it this way. If, after fully upgrading their settlement and paying maintenance fees, the owners of Ebonscale (and all the other non-EF) were making thousands of gold every week, would we be having this discussion?
The answer is No. The problem (as stated in the devglog) is that outlying settlement donāt make enough gold to be competitive (in terms of conquest). The chosen solution is to ārepopulateā those settlements via more convenient trading which should result in those settlements being more financially competitive.
idk about yāall but I promise to god Iām never buying anything that isnāt the cheapest price. Meaning Iām usually taking that 30 min walk to everfall
the factions are not enemies so much as unfriendly allies
The solution is going to have more consequences than is being considered. Thatās what most of the posts have been about. Most never said it wouldnāt be more convenient.
I agree that merging TPS isnāt a good solution to the problem. But there is a problem with certain territories not making any money.
For starters, you should be able to sell your house and move without any gold lost. Making it easier to move to another town if you find it more desirable. Right now, even merging the TPs wonāt fix the problem because no one is going to move out of WW just because they can trade elsewhere.
To see if I understand the problem and I swapped the two?
Your arrogance is showing and Iām not going to engage with you.
They donāt need to connect the TPs to fix Everfall and Windsward reigning surpreme.
All they need to do is distribute Trading Post taxes equally.
As if the market wasnāt horrible as is, now an entire server will share one market further ruining any chance to sell items for a modicum of profit.
The entrances are already empty. You create your group by asking people on the corresponding channel. Having a Group Finder will not kill the social aspect of that. Which is basically spamming āLF DPSā or āLFG Genesisā.
Queue up would be bad I agree, but something like a group finder similar to what we have in WoW with the M+ system is not that bad.
To the OP, I will love having the AHs combined but I can also understand what we will lose for that. At he moment I am a bit mixed about it but I think for the future of the game it might be a good change.
Unfortunately AGS has to link the markets as currently countless servers are utterly dominated by the faction/company that owns Everfall for any prolonged period of time, as the income it generates is enough to gear up a full company in Voidbent.
Just check across various high population servers; Any faction/company owning Everfall for a few weeks will have a large territory majority.
This change is fundamentally important to help shift the balance.
