To those whom it may concern.
Currently the situation on the west coast servers has grown very dire. We have about one servers worth of players spread over four others and the population continues to decline. One of the large reasons for this how badly wars currently favor those in power who have managed to hold onto the taxes and fully equip their 50 man. There is not much those outside of the powerful companies can do to change the status quo and this leads to stagnation.
A possible solution I came up with is to allow involved companies only 20 guaranteed slots in a war and let the remaining slots be randomly pulled from sign ups. This would allow everyone a chance to try this game mode and would prevent fully stacked companies from maintaining their hold on the game. It might also encourage companies to try and maintain good relationships with the server as they would not want to be saturated by saboteurs when they go to war.
Currently the West Coast is dying as one company has pretty much become dominant (Dawn Guard). They took over Camelot and no one could beat their fully equipped group (to be fair, they are quite skilled). They then started hiring themselves out as mercenaries for a cut of the territory profits. Soon it became a matter of whether or not you were paying them or not if you won wars. Eventually large amounts of Camelot left and moved to El Dorado to escape this. Sadly, once the pop in Camelot had shrunk, Dawn Guard left as well and now the process has repeated on El Dorado. Everyone is moving to Yggdrasil to escape Dawn Guard and there is already evidence that they are about to move.
By making wars a bit more random by allowing regular players to play, I hope that it will become harder for the established powers to maintain their stranglehold on the game. It will also allow those who are not normally able to experience wars a chance to try them out.
Hopefully we can get something more than useless platitudes as proof that this issue is getting addressed, one way or another.
