Please make elemental gems for everyone!

Since day one I’ve really liked the look of elemental gems on weapons but sadly I’m a STR build so I’m exempt from using it in any viable way… my suggestion is to change elemental gems from scaling off INT to a flat elemental damage rate of 9 to 10% similar to enchanted… maybe more if it makes since. Obviously the situational gems give a bigger boost to dps still but with a change like this every one can use them and enjoy a dps boost as well as having the cool glow of the element. PLEASE AGS! Make it E for everyone! And get rid of the taunt gem while your at it. Add taunt to perks

Maybe even there status effect as well… ex: burning for fire gem

Gems could use an overall rework in my opinion.

They could take equipment slots for gear to create new gem effects.

Chest and legs could be what they are now, but amplify the gems a bit to compensate, instead of 2.5% res physical make it 6% so with two slots you can still get 12% as opposed to 5 gems for 12.5%.

Then have different effects on hands feet and helm. This could also help with not changing 3-5 gems per mutation rotation. Just re-slot 2.

Slotting certain gems into feet could have things that involve stamina and movement like Regen Delay reduction, haste after dodge, haste per ability on CD maybe even increased dodge roll distance.

Hands could have attack speed, heavy charge up time, increased nock speed or reload speed, increased channel speed, faster cast rate (animation speed) or even straight up increased damage.

Helm could be some obvious ones, increased accuracy, increased healing - outgoing and incoming, CC reduction maybe even something like increase mana usage but increase spell effects and use 10 stamina per attack for increased damage and crit damage.

Then when it comes to weapons, they could be essentially what they are now, but as the man above said, fire causes a burn, nature causes blight (please…? Revert Healer nerfs in PTR but give nature gem 50% nature damage and cause blight) void causes rend, ice causes slow, arcane gives armor pen and lightning does 10 stamina damage per hit.

PTR changes would need to be adjusted accordingly due to changes on PTR being geared towards balance for current meta change but you could have a more unique build based on gems. Also, yes, just put the taunts on the abilities themselves and make it only work if you have the hated perk on equipment.

Make carnelian a tank gem, slotting it into armor gives thorns or what have you. Slotting it into a weapon can be something like causes bleed.

This could create deeper builds enhancing PvP and PvE across the board.

There’s so much they could do with this game… They just don’t. Lol.

I feel like were gonna witness a lot of system reworks over the next year or two and hopefully well get to realize some of this potential.

You can use gems with full STR builds right now.

The ice gem for example:

Frozen IV: 50% of damage is converted to Ice. Damage scales off base weapon stat or INT, whichever is higher.

Damage scales off base weapon damage stat (STR in your case), OR INT. As you have more STR than INT, you damage is not reducted, just 50% regular damage and 50% elemental. Giving the exact same 100% total damage as you did before.

But indeed gems could get some more love. The system is way to simple right now.

All elementql gemd scale from int or your main stat, it mean if sameone have 300 int and if you have 300 str its same scale, t2 gems are buged so thei beter work with int

Yeah lets make the only strong part of being a non str player for everyone. but then lets give 300str grit to everyone too, also other weapons should have the same scaling with its main stat like the GA so we can also afford to have 200con.

Little more info on that. Gems don’t use the attribute that is higher. They use the attribute that generates more damage.

Example: weapon that scales 100% with STR with Frozen Gem IV which scales 80% with INT, if you have 200 STR and, let’s say 201 INT, it will scale with STR since it outputs more damage.

This is something that people often get confused about due to how the gem descriptions are worded. Attribute and gem scaling is a little bit more in depth than it seems.

So is it as viable as a opal? STR build wise

Atunement perks actually do exactly what you mentioned, where it adds elemental damage in a similar way that enchanted does and they are actually really good.

I think other people have mentioned that it shouldn’t reduce your damage if you use gems, but you do lose the potential damage from other non-elemental gems. Honestly think attunement perks might be what you are looking for though. With the nature one coming out it’s gonna really be nice given the low number of things that resist nature.

The armor ones right? I just want the cool weapon glows and to be as viable as a opal gem.

they first gotta fix em, still cant use it for ice shower ( since release maybe more… )
fireball, sticky bomb and ice spikes loose dmg if u use any ( while be fixxed i think )
