People are doing some hard work at Overwolf to make some improvements to certain things. If Amazon are speaking with them now, then that means they can work together! It’s a good thing! it means that the work can basically get done for them, and they can possibly pay them to have it officially implemented.
A lot of things are very archaic at the moment. I’m all for this partnership.

Add-ons are a great way to personalize user interface and let things more suitable to your taste. If you don’t like them, don’t use them.

people that are looking for specific dps numbers are hardcore grinding or doing some highly difficult content, if you can’t meet those dps checkpoints then make your own party with no dps checks and clear the content at 1/4 the speed the others are able to…coming from a hardcore perspective I WILL NOT PARTY IF YOU CAN’T PERFORM! I’M NOT HERE TO CATER TO CASUAL PLAYERS NEEDS!

Btw, it’s easier for devs to balance stuff if they have actual numbers, not just casuals screaming “omg someone killed me, x weapon is OP”.

Addons for me is only required if the game doesn’t provide what I need or the UI itself is terrible. For WoW I ran with a few addons to make the UI cleaner than what the stock-UI shows.
However in FF14 I don’t feel any need for addons. The game provides a nice and clean UI that you can set up as you like, and the information provided is well thought trough and easy to understand.
For New World as it is now, I don’t feel the UI is missing anything, and as such doesn’t feel the need to have any addons. Minimap to me is also unnecessary, I look around the world to see what is close to me and press M to bring up the big map to see where I’m going. I sort of agree with something Molyneux saud some years back in regards of minimaps in Fable 3 (or 2, can’t remember which game he referred to). He felt that a lot of players were playing the game more through the minimap than looking around the world. I sort of agree with that.

to save your precious time i might want to suggest to join a elitist discord, there you can look at each others gear as you please. There is no reason to beg for a feature which ultimately only hurts the game

addon’s don’t change the base game, you seem to have some odd misconception that it’s somehow going to warp the game that you play. Don’t use them if you don’t want to simple as that. Addons are for people who want to maximize efficiency unlike people like…well…you get the picture
