I assume that nothing has changed on your gear between the two screenshots.
Then this is the display bug that has been in the game since release and has been (not)fixed several times.
A weapon always has the same DMG on a defined GS, no matter what is displayed.
This means that the weapon damage of a 600 hatchet is always the same.
Nothing changed, my current weapon does 1,461.
I was unaware of damage being based on GS level alone…i saw that extra 54 damage as some bolt-on horsepower.
damage of your weapons are based on your attributes. You can see this by hitting K on your keyboard, navigating to the attributes tab and looking to the right of the UI. There you will see the damage output of your weapons.
Hope you are doing great and apologize about this misunderstanding!
The information provided by @Deramond its correct the weapon damage is based on the gearscore and it wont chage.
Even though you can report this situation by creating a web ticket here: Contact Us | Amazon Games.
@deramond misunderstood my point and you simply regurgitated his misinterpretation.
Damage output is NOT what i am talking about.
The visual information provided on the pattern indicated the damage output was 1515.
The visual information lead me to believe that this would produce an additional 54 points of damage.
This information was the basis of my decision to craft the item.
The crafted item changed the listed output to 1461.
In the real world you could call this bait-and-switch.
No damage was done using the weapon.
I have since learned this is a long standing bug.
Essentially in game information was incorrectly listed on the pattern and did not match the final product.
If the pattern correctly listed 1461 i would not have crafted the item as i already had a weapon with that specification.
If you bought a box labeled “1515 widgets enclosed” then took it home and found it only contained 1461 widgets would you find that acceptable?
You take your brand-new super powered Dodge Mustang Z28 to the racetrack.
You are excited to feel what 1515 miles per hour feels like with the windows down.
The big red digits on your speedometer say you have achieved 1515 miles per hour in 1.7 seconds.
You get back to the crowd at the start line expecting cheers and adulation.
The guy behind the dopler laser speed detector says “great job at getting to the same speed as everyone else: 1461 mph”
No you say, my dash speedo said 1515 mph.
You here a chuckle from the crowd as they look at you with pity.
Oh the manufacturer put 1515 mph so you would buy it…but it only does 1461 mph like the rest of us you shmuck…
Please return the mats and reclaim the item from my bag.
If this is correct, what is the purpose of the very 1st stat listed on a weapon being “damage” then giving a number.
Assuming what you say is correct then all weapons of the same class and gear score should list the same number across the board (ie All 600 GS Great Axe should list the same damage number in that first specification)
If you look at the image i attached you can see this is not the case.
The 1st image shows damage of 1515.
This was prompted me to use costly resources to craft it.
Once crafted the number changed.
Had the number been correct in the pattern i would not have wasted resources.
Misleading information / incorrect information provided by the developers is the issue.
Perhaps we have a different understanding of the definition of “change”.
My screen shots show it DID change.
It changed from 1515 to 1461.
I am not talking about actual damage output, i am talking about saying it will produce more damage enticing you to craft it…only to discover it changed to 1461.
In order to clarify thi game topic I would like to present an example that we can use to know that all the weapons have the same damage based on gearscore and Attributes. The damage of a Warhammer 600 with Dexterity is lower than and Warhammer 600 with Strength same with all the weapons a Great axe with Dexterity will lower the damage. Considering a build of 300str + 200 con.
-The “Blackguard’s Greataxe” Vs “Weaponmaster’s Chosen” at 590 they have 1421 damage and 29 strength.
“Desecrated Maul (30STR)” at 600gs 1479 damage compare with “Conqueror’s Will”(20STR + 10 constitution) 1458 damage the second one will have reduced dmg since has reduced str stats.
The damage on the weapons will vary depending on the GS and the stats they have in but they are all balanced in the same ranges.
I totally understand your point with the post it is a big situation to sped all these materials in something you did not want cause of the description mistake. And of course any player would like to take and advantage and have a more powerfull weapon all the time.
Unfortunately I can not restore this items over the forums service I suggest to create a web ticket explaining the situation about the bug so it can be properly investigated.
I do not doubt that damage is based on what you are saying.
That is not the point.
The point is there was an item that claimed to have higher damage than other items of the same gear score.
All GS 600 great axes list damage as 1461.
The GS 600 great axe called Everchill Cleaver was different, it listed damage as 1515.
The two sentences above is as concise as i can be describing the issue.
Because Everchill Cleaver pattern said the damage was 1515 i was tricked into wasting 40,000 worth of crafting mats
If the pattern showed Everchill Cleavers damage was 1461 (like every other GS600 great axe) i would not have crafted it.
For visual summary of this please see the image below.
Left side is what the pattern says Everchill Cleaver is.
Right side is the crafted item of Everchill Cleaver.
The change is circled.
it is a bug that will affect anyone that buys the pattern…as the pattern still shows 1515 damage.
(and its not just this pattern…many patterns that were carry overs from last year have the same issue based on what i was told…this is a bug the devs are aware of…but did not fix.
These two patterns were picked up in the same visit to the Winter town (i think these two came from a present)
your example is not related to my issue.
please look at the attached screen shot of the side by side Everchill pattern and crafted item.
if you say that screen shot does not clearly demonstrate what i am saying i give up…already hours wasted trying to say the pattern contained an incorrect number. Because of the incorrect number i wasted 40k in materials.
I would like to note that I totally understand the problem in this situation and if this is affecting you and other players during the event it will be frustrating I know this materials are expensive and hard to farm.
I would love to help scalating this problem for it to be properly investigated let me know you character name and server aswell the date and time around when the crafting was done. I can not guarantee that the materials will be refunded but will be pleasure to help!
you’re right…because the pattern said something, i believed it.
I should have paused the game, hopped on google and searched for known bugs related to this pattern.
