@BRGF Thanks, I think this would increase the amount of players who go out to farm the materials to craft the orbs. Which in turn means more players doing more things in the game. A.K.A Spending time in New World.
This would also give the players that don’t have a good amount of Coin to be able to make more Coin because of the amount of Materials needed to keep up with the Demand.
It would also alleviate the amount of players crying about the Tuning Orbs, especially Mutated Orbs.
The last dev video still didn’t really explain how luck works… let alone talk about most of the player issues and the released a patch that broke the game even further with more dupes and combat glitches.
I don’t really think our feedback is useful or even being sent in properly. We reported the Jan PTR bugs with combat day 1 it came out, and it still went live…
we tried PTR last night and the combat bugs are still there too… you have 17 threads begging AGS to fix it with no comment and players are still leaving in droves.
feedback that isn’t critical of the game is the only feedback being sent in I think.
It is the real worst mechanic i ever seen in any game. Whenever i think ‘hmm maybe i should try new world again’, tuning orbs came to my mind and i just give up. I can’t convince any of my friends to join this shitfest.
This is probably the biggest issue about the game and i am sure devs will remove them from the game. When playerbase drops to 5000-10000. Yet it will be too late. And it’s not too far with these drops.
Even now it’s too late.
And i can say whoever came with that idea first is mostly responsible of the huge collapse of this game. However it’s not the only issue yet people could ignore some design issues for good PVE. However, New World killed that chance. It has no pve because of this shit.
Core aspect of every mmorpg is dungeons and raids. However you should pay someone to join dungeon group if you don’t like crafting/grinding.
This is so irrational that no one even justify that shitty design.
So you guys are saying you cant go run a few faction missions a day?
Orbs cost almost nothing now, and the only thing people are charging for is mutations because of the huge investment in gear and time required to run them correctly.
There’s no benefit to balancing a game around laziness.
Change Tuning Orb for access instead into Keys to open special lootboxes you get for successful completion. Make Expeditions no different from an Elite Zone in case players try to spam it.
Recent changes to the CD in faction shop and daily token bonus etc have shown, that orbs itself are not an issue, its ridiculous cost was.
However there is now huge imbalance in crafting cost / cost from faction vendor and that needs to be looked at. Faction mission should be rebalanced slightly, reducing a daily bonus of tokens a bit, but increased the amount gain from repeating those given day (be it mission itself, or other forms of reward - like OPR - on the other hand there should be daily bonus for first OPR for example as well). Arena orbs should also be available in token vendor.
Crafting mats needs to be reduced by a lot to match how easily available the orbs are from vendor. Also all parts required for craft should be tradeable. As well as orbs should be tradeable.
And my last wish, is that all cost should be reduced to ±20%, amount you can buy/craft increaded 5x and EVERYONE need his own orb, to be able to enter expedition/arena (also while introducing this change, all already existing orbs are duplicated so you have 5 of orb per orb you currently have). This will not change economy but removes the wierd orb trading meta we currently have, which only works because community is small and poeple cant have bad names and be bad actors. Everyone would have to optain his own orb before entering (and it would be up to any one how to get it - buy it from TP, buy it from anyone at entrace, craft it, buy it from faction vendor). - but the cost would be around 1/5 it is now, to match that you pretty much need 5 orbs per expedition/arena.
This economic reason people continue to fight for keeping these orbs shouldn’t have even existed in the first place. There should NOT be any form of economic incentive to bar your fellow players access to instanced content that should be generally available to everyone with no strings attached.
There are better ways meter progress are they not.
One idea was to have the orbs improve drop chances when in the dungeon, that way you can run the dungeon at any time, but can only increase the chances of getting the uber rare drops several times a week. Nice idea. Have an obelisk inside the instance you (personally) can use the orb on that gives you a discovery buff perhaps.
