Please rework runeglass

They just release them and u want rework? xD u will wait for it atleast year

I haven’t, but that proves my point that they were not designed properly. They introduced gems that are at the same level as previous gems, but made them cost an exponential amount more. That needs to be fixed.

That’s possible, but even more of a reason to get the ball rolling on that change now then, no?

Its not 20% less resistance, its more like 5%. And you get a 10% damage buff for that. It is definitely worth it. I am using them on all my Armor, doesn’t need a rework.

Different utility, more variety.
Stronger doesn’t always mean better.

hmm where are the runeglass for healer? Sry no one needs mana. also stamina is useless… maybe something with more heal? But i guess you will tell me now healer are op right ?
maybe you could do something like 1% of the heals will give the player a shield for 3 sec?

Stamina is good, then you pair with wepon whu can give you stamina too ;D

What if they made Runeglass an interchangeable gem? I might actually use them then… as they are now, they are most definitely not worth the gold/resources to use… however, if I could use them to change out gems for mutations and such without destroying them, it would be worth it to me.

It’s a 20% reduction in resistances.

Exactly- that’s part of the reason I posted this. Runeglass gems aren’t any “better” than current gems, at least on armor, so making them cost 5-10 times more doesn’t make any sense.

I think I’m fine with how they work on armour currently. Yes you take a hit in one sense, but gain access to powerful buffs.

What I’m not happy with is how runeglass gems work in weapons (which is the same way they work in armour). In weapons they don’t seem worthwhile using at all.

I’d like to see runeglass gems in weapon do the full power of the regular gem, plus the bonus. Yes, that’s a buff, but they also cost more reagents and require more crafting skill to produce. It’s okay if they’re a bit better.

The emerald one is worthwhile, considering there’s no downside to it. Not sure if that’s a bug, or just a UI issue…

Explain to me how you get 20%, cause I actually use them and only lost 5.5.% resistances.

Notice reduction in italics. If you have 5 thrust resistance, and now you have 4 thrust resistance, that’s a 20% reduction in overall thrust resistance.

That’s not how Reduction works. If the starting point is 25% and the end point is 20%, the reduction is 5%.

I’m just talking about simple math. Take “thrust resistance” out of it, and just use numbers.

Take 5. Then subtract 20%. What number do you get?

Why are you subtracting 20% tho, it is 1% per Gem. Thats 5%.

I’m just asking you a simple math question. Use a calculator if you must. Reduce 5 by 20% and what do you get?

Context matters. Yes, if you go from 5% thrust resistance to 4% thrust resistance, you are losing 1% thrust resistance in game. Obviously. But that 1% you’re losing happens to be 20% of the thrust resistance you had originally. The devs had to use this math. Why you ask? Because what would they do with onyx gems? They couldn’t very well take away 1% resistances from onyx gems could they? That would mean they would go from 2.5% to 1.5% resistance, which would be a much larger penalty compared to thrust resistance gems. So what they did was they reduced all gems by 20%. So 5 went to 4 and 2.5 went to 2. This made the changes equal across the board.

Oh I see what u are saying, that is a terrible way to make a point and super misleading, because we are not talking about the reduction of base numbers, we are talking about the reduction of percentages which is normally subtractive in New World, not multiplicative.

Read my edit. It’s not misleading at all, in fact it’s the numbers the developers actually used when adjusting these gems.
