Does one of the cc effects of PaoD stack? I wasnt aware of that. Or are you just referring to its damage? If just the damage any ranged damage ability behaves the same.
A lot of weapojs have dead abilities that aren’t used for pvp or pve. Bruisers have a ton of them As do STR melee.
Execute for Great Axe has a rad animation yet has never been used for anything other than meme’ing since launch as an example.
Hatchet’s throwing tree received a small re-work but is still garbage and the only usable ability imo is the one that rends. Some use Social Distancing but a hatchet player doesnt want to go backwards so its not good.
Hammer also has abilities that arent used.
Most of the weapons in the game could use a touch up or re-work of soke kind. Mages for whatever reason are just drastically more vocal than players of the other weapons. Its odd but theres probably something to that that the devs should listen to to a degree. Mages want to obliterate everything without having to be threatened by melee. Obviously that fantasy cant be in the game. But maybe they should have more ranged abilities or fix the current ones qol and maybe balance the damage afterwards up or down for mage players once pillar is fixed. That ability has had a history of issues.
This. I’m actually so tired of people talking about Blunderbuss + IG or FS in the context of mages. Blunderbuss is straight up overtuned no matter what other weapon you pair with it and no Mage player is denying that BB needs a nerf.
It was never intended for the damage to be persistent through the entire 8 seconds the perk gives, only the first hit. So it’s a fix rather than a nerf.
If you think flamethrower will no longer be relevant because of this change, I will say you go watch some mage gameplay.
All these people crying about mage being weak in pvp need to go.
Saw someone do a fire staff hammer battlemage build and it looked Hella potent. Maybe search that video and try it out. Also dont forget that casters are indeed getting buffs next patch indirectly due to the new gems. They buff up elemental damage for each one and they add extra dots to your attacks. They do help.
Again, that’s not a true mage. FS/IG FS/VG or IG/VG are the only 3 true mage combinations in the game. Everything else is a hybrid mage.
Anything with a weapon that doesn’t scale with it’s own stat is bonkers to even bring up as a mage.
Mages don’t want to use a hammer they want to use magic.
Imagine the outcry from the melee community if any one of the melee weapons was in the gutter, and if mages came into the chat and said hey if you use Ice gauntlet/hammer it looks hella potent.
Melee players would lose their freaking minds dude.
I can’t tell if your being serious or joking? There was a period where all the melees were running ig on off hand simply for the showers grav well into shower into death. Back when grav well prevented you from moving at all. No dodge and a very slow walk out.
nah your statements is BS, yes it is very hard to hit but not because of aiming or anything. there is not a mechanic behind it
aiming doesnt work intentional in this game. only mages can understand it not you. for example out of 4 casts, 1 of my ice shower casts on me instead of my target. i have 0 clue why and how it happens. i cant avoid it.
same shit happens to pillar of fire too, or the aim indicator snaps to a rock-wood or something on the map instead of where i aim.
also if there is a slope(which there is almost always a slope other than arena) you cant see the indicator sometimes, it disappears, or it somehow gets lost under the bushes.
this is why its hard to hit, not because of any personal aiming issues.
I am playing mage & trickster builds since release bredda. There’s not even an ounce of BS in what I wrote. I strongly suggest you get better at the game and then come back with some feedback.
It sounds like you’re struggling with one of the most accessible builds in this game.
The only thing I can agree on is that indicator disappears sometimes.
