The game has been out long enough to initiate an algorithm that renames or makes you rename account names created in the first month that have not been active since their creation.
This would free up a lot of usernames that others would like to use, and help encourage new players to find a username that they enjoy.

In addition usernames should be REGION locked, not GLOBALLY locked. I really doubt you guys have any intention of merging servers from different regions, so why not???
I personally have found there’s quite a few names available.
Moderation is easier if there’s unique usernames.
Region transfers exist as well.
Ok so I guess no region lock. SO thew only reason right now that you can come up with for not implementing this is ease of moderation?..
EDIT: Upon further inspection I found this thread:

Transfers are only available within your region, each region is a separate database and it is not possible to re-assign as character to a different region.
so are you wrong when you said you could transfer REGIONS? or has it been changed since then?
That’s a two year old post. Region transfers exist.
Ok thanks for clearing that up, so is there ANY other reason besides ease of moderation that this feature should not be implemented?

same goes for companys, if the entire company has been inactive for X amount of days free the name up
