I know there have been a lot of subjects lately from returning players finding the game is running terrible. i have a high end system, and after returning finding the above esp in towns, attempted 2 weeks with various attempts (uninstall, old nvidia drivers, optimization) to fix the issues to no avail. After looking at what was happening in task manager once in game the solution is on Nvidia graphic cards:
Press the Windows Key+R
Type ‘services.msc’ w/o the quotes and hit enter.
Find the service named NVIDIA FrameView SDK service - stop and disable.
this fixed immediately, Nvidia are stating they are aware of issue and looking at fix.
Platform information this is on Win11, 3080, 64gb ddr5, 2tb m.2
Maybe for some people. But the vast majority of the problems is from their server. Mobs not spawning in expeditions is not on our side for sure.
And now they upped the cap at 2.5k. So excited to try it tonight…
I will try it as soon as i finish work today.
My problem is when i enter a town, or an area with more than 5-6 players, my game starts to freeze randomly. I can hear sounds, only screen bug. I have a constant fps.
If this fixes my problem i will marry you.
i can only state my issues as above. i was getting constant lag, stutter, slow down and rubber banding which i put down to Amazon Servers and tried changing world and region several times, tried a new character, tried changing settings in game but nothing would fix.
Knew my system is well above the recommended specs but then thought that i didnt have this at the start when everyone was playing so it cant of been bandwidth. I looked at my system, and tried fixing things from there. such as older drivers, latency on network, making sure all system drivers are latest blah blah…I could see the Nvidia SDK spike in task manager once running New World and turning off / disabling fixed immediately with silky smooth performance in game.
I’ve reported issue to Nvidia and they are looking into for a fix.
This is not going to fix missing mobs, it is a performance fix for Nvidia cards on Win11 that i hope others with same issue will now be able to resolve.
I think also something to point out is a lot of people contribute stutter due to frame pacing, microstutters and other issues to network lag rather than what they actually are: A problem with your GPU or CPU keeping pace with rendering.
Micro stutters and frame pacing issues happen in all kinds of games and MMOs can be notorious for people conflating the two. I am glad someone posted a fix like this and I hope that more are provided by members of the community.
Just remember: Mob spawning, item drops, and anything that deals with transactions on the server (i.e farming a node for resources, killing something, etc) these are all things that are affected by lag/server-side issues. Rubber-banding can also be server side, but can also be client-side as well. Latency can happen from either side, whether it is receiving updated information from the server or sending it to the server.
I think more understanding and research into what we all experience while playing can help improve the experience for everyone through things like this being reported to AMD and NVIDIA and also seeing real server side issues being reported to AGS.
