Ok so here is what I am thinking a system should be set in place where crowd control abilities (CC) have diminishing returns for effectiveness. Maybe something like this.
First time you get CC’d full duration for that type IE full hard stun, slow, root, and stagger each should be on their own respective timer.
If you get CC’d again by the same category with in 5 seconds then the duration should be 50% of the original time
If you get CC’d a third time by the same category with in 5 seconds of the second CC ending then the effectiveness should be 25% the original.
After the 3rd CC within that time window then you get complete immunity to CC for Id say maybe 10s seconds.
After that CC immunity timer expires then you go back to stage 1 and take full duration once again.
If you take multiple CC of the same category with in the duration of the first then number one should be full duration number two adds 50% duration to the time number three adds 25% duration to the time then you can not be CC’d any longer and get your 10 second immunity right after the CC’s effect ends.
These changes will ensure that players can at max be CC’d for a total of 1.75 total CC duration in PVP and PVE and prevent things like mass CC spam for PVP and infinite stagger from multiple mobs in PVE.
Thoughts? Opinions? Tweaks to the timers?
