Potion spamming in PVP

To me that sounds extremely bad. Long ttk and tank/heal meta makes me vomit. I think the current ttk in nw is perfect. It’s fast but still slow enough to where if you’re moving and have game sense you can think and counter.

Dont knock it till you try it mate! Granted its very dated now and controls feel awkward to try and go back now. So not really a gold standard to current games lol

Different game, different systems. Very popular in alot of asian MMOs especially older ones.

I have played plenty of games with high and low ttk, and I will always be a fan of low ttk, because it rewards faster reaction time and high apm more than just sitting there pressing buttons for eternity. Pretty much like retail wow is now. I have never played rising force so I can’t have an opinion on it, but that’s just my general take on ttk.

One game that I did love with a higher ttk was silkroad online.

Ya my favorite was TBC. Balance was more like… warrior kills rogue, rogue kills mage, mage kills warr… ect but it wasnt 100% if you out played your counters. Also high lvls had an advantage but did not kill you in 1 hit usually lol.

Exactly. I didn’t play tbc but I played classic, and the wpvp was so much fun. Ttk in classic wasn’t even super low ttk, but people didn’t have 20 healthbar like retail. Even healers couldn’t heal forever. Nw to me feels more like classic. You get someone low, maybe they eat some food or health pot whatever, but you get them low again and they die unless it’s a lifestaff.

As a ranged players it seems everything is stopping you from killing your enemy.
Literally all threads last 2 weeks are “i am ranged and i can’t kill anyone because…”

Have you tried hitting your target? Bows do absurd damage, have stagger and can permanently slow so noone should escape from you.

During the resilient bug I could understand but now it feels normal again. The only way someone should get away from ranged is if they dodge everything and just outmove your shots which is feeling really nice cause if you hit your shots they will still die unless they get in cover. Ranged was brokenly bad during last 2 weeks cause of that bug since everyone was running heavy armor or voidbent with resil.

One thing I do admire is I feel the way ranged is handled, it feels solid, (mostly) in a way that melee can go in and do there thing and sorta still shrug it off but not fully ignore it.

You know even in wow zerg pvp and other MMOs melee sits with ranged because the other side of the zerg is all spamming ranged aoe skills, no one wants to take that step in the mess of aoe lol

I just played some world pvp. Iam using bow, first I did 1v1 with another bow user. After 4min both of us got full hp cause the potions. Then 1v1 with a musketer. Same thing we just cannot deal enought damage to each other to kill. Imagine 2 glasscannon player cant kill each other. Then 2 melee attacked me and they couldnt kill me cause when I had low hp is just started dodgeing and potion back. Another 5min fight without success. Also I tried to burst with rapier, but its super easy to kite out the rapier…
I dont know what you guys think. I think its just terrible right now.

Whats the point of world pvp when 2 DPS cannot kill each other, cause they heal back more, than deal damage. I just dont want play this way. Endless fights have zero point, zero fun.

Probably who comment here never played 1v1. Or played with a greataxe which almost oneshot anyone, but ranged units unable to kill these guys cause they have no real burst damage.

2 dps can kill each other, unless their aim is that awful, been 1v1ing with my musket/rapier just fine in the world. Just need to land a good 4-5 hits after they pop that potion.

I wont waste time fighting a tank or healer by myself. I value my ammo more.

Nerf potions. Make healers great again!

Because this game has bad PvP and is not balanced for 1v1.

Potions are probably fine, once PvP is properly balanced maybe can come back to this.

I also don’t think TTK should be short. So short is so many easy mode MMOs…

Potion is a built in healer. I dont think in a fight you supposed to heal yourself back to full health every 10sec (with the trinket buff)

Currently the best way to win 1v1 is to burst the enemy in a few seconds (melees have easy job, rangeds sucks) or be a tank and get unkillable. Its nothing about short TTK, you can still be oneshoted.

never had problem with potion chugger, always have a problem to healer who refuse to die even when getting ganked by 10 person

Are you actually kidding? Ranged is the most powerful now with the resilience fixed LOL. Mages/muskets can crit for up to 6k with a shot from ranged, and you want to nerf potions that heal for 5k? Wow xd.

A simple solution is to remove all insta-heal and insta-mana fill-up potions and keep only the REGENERATION based ones.

That way you can have :slight_smile:

  • Health Regeneration
  • Mana Regeneration
  • Omni Regeneration (same regen power as the above but 50%-50% split… so if a health regen does 100 health a tick the Omni would do 50 health 50 mana a tick).

Another thing that needs to go is nonstop food-chompin’. Yes, they stop healing you if you get hit but you still can just kite and avoid damage while the initial food regen ticks heal you up.

The solution to that is simple: Add a ‘belly fill’ indicator. Each food has a ‘fill’ factor and once you’ve ‘filled’ your belly you can’t eat any more until time passes and your belly fill lowers.
