Prediction: Brimstone Sands quests will suck

Vanilla NW quests are tired, boring and lack any kind of creativity. Constant running out from town to just turn around and go back to the same spot again right after turn-in is the norm. Who thinks that AGS will change this for the new area?

I think it will be lack luster with a copy & paste of assets from the current zones in the game.

Mobs will be a reskin of existing mobs and the quests will be the same as we see in any other MMO other there.

AGS does not have a great track record, so we’ll see how things go, once that content is released.

it is definitely going to be a make or break patch with it being the first expansion

I enjoy quests that change the actual world. It doesn’t have to be significant.

Like helping Giacomo build his little house in Windsward - I enjoyed seeing it progress then now it’s a built house. It would be nice if the settlement quests in non-contested areas were like this, so you are part of the base-building. Bonus points if there are divergent paths to give me a little customization - even something small like choosing the Inn’s banner.

Would be nice to just have even a small sense of impact to the world. A lot of quests that tell you to “blow up this crate” or “clear this area of infected” don’t have a persistent change. You blow the crate and it respawns in a few minutes. You clear the mobs and they come back.

Imagine the starter quests to clear the farm of infected, and you go back a few days later to non-hostile NPCs trying to farm the land. Come back a few weeks later and there’s actual crops.

I keep seeing the word “expansion” being tossed around casually … is there anything that truly justifies using this word? Will it cost money? Will it fundamentally change the game? Will it add tons of new content and feel like a “new era” of the game? As far as I can tell, it’s just a new weapon and a new zone. Sure it “expands” the map … but we have 20+ years of MMOs and fairly accepted idea of what “expansion” means and… I don’t think that’s what we’re getting?

Exactly, just big patch, nothing more then that, but I think it will be same recolour of Lazarus but with a sand, let’s see

they have painted themselves into a corner really well with all the copy pasta we see everywhere so this large patch would be a good time to show that they don’t reuse every asset and use the same quest line over and over, but if they do - yikes

The persistant change is an interesting idea but that would imply an ever diminishing set of activities to do in the game.
Im more for justifiably explained repetitious gameplay loop such as there is a small but growing squad of stormcloak and sympathizors that have taken the outpost at this position, if nothing is done, they might take the region. - yes that can only be done if there was an entire story arch before the player is going to care unless they are role playing as a mercinary.
