Prevent griefing when fishing

You’re in some very murky territory.

Is a musket that sits on top of the rocks shooting at war camp so they can’t get the chests considered trolling?

Hell… is someone that is not actively engaging in a barpush who comes expressly to kill people who are pushing considered trolling?

Those certainly reduce the enjoyment of the game for others depending on who you ask.

not really, he stops ur pvp action, with pvp…

What’s his purpose compared to the purpose of this thread?

He’s tagging you and your faction mates explicitly to stop you from doing an activity vs training a mob explicitly to stop you from doing an activity. He can’t kill you doing it. Unless you’re actually that terrible at the game

At that level, it’s just semantics.

so u think, stopping someone from pushing a territory is the same as stopping someone from fishing at an event?..
stop making a fool out of urself :face_with_monocle: :joy: :joy:

YOUR argument, not mine, was posting an excerpt from the CoC saying that no behavior was acceptable that reduces the enjoyment of the game for others.

I gave you a very widely experienced example of behavior that reduces the enjoyment of the game for others… and the response was to call me a clown?

Try and come up with an actual argument

You can veiw it as preventing an enemy faction member from getting tokens needed to craft good gear

Which u can get from pve aswell

Well it’s not like you can go into an exhibition and kill someone now is it :p. Flagged fishing is still flagged.

Nah but it is really annoying when someone trains mobs on you though fr. I’m just saying that it can be vague territory.

Flagged fishing is stupid anyway, that luck doesnt help

Yeah I mean there are literally people who refuse to use functions in the game such as muting it’s not enough for some people to handle a problem at the lowest possible level

but arent you just treating the symptom and not the disease that way?

There are places where you can get the fishy and you won’t get aggroed by crocs. BUT people leading them to you will always be an issue.

I had one guy from Dawn Guard try to lure crocs to me when I’m fishing at SM. Heard so much bad stuff about them.

honestly, new world has been a horrific experience. me and my company have now completely and officially left new world, MAYBE will come back if we hear of a MAJOR change in the territory mechanic. weve all headed back to wow tbc classic getting ready for lich king drop in sept. peace out and have a great time guys and gals.

There’s no cure for toxicity.

I always refer to this scene from the movie ‘Big Trouble’ when we discuss situations like this.

We’re not talking about rules here. We’re talking about manners. Some players just don’t have any.

i disagree. but i think thats been apparent lol

You’re proposing that there is a solution to natural human behavior? :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

100%

yes, because its not natural human behavior, its learned traits. you didnt have this toxic garbage back in the early days of pvp games, as youtubers became bigger, they wanted to generate content and that started the trolling wars. trolling wars made it seem funny to ruin other peoples games by being toxic to them, because hey… the internet is anonymous. game companies dropped the ball in dealing with it because it would have cost them money to ban toxic players and teach them there are consequences. on top of that theres parents that use computers as babysitters and dont discipline their children when they are being toxic online.

if they are being toxic, and there is no consequence, what reason do they have to not be toxic? so we have to teach toxic people there IS a consequence to their actions, in this case, by banning them. and keep banning them. first offense a short ban, second offense a longer ban, 3rd offense… permanent. and now they cant play the game they paid for. a consequence to their toxic behavior.

If course it is. Just because a lot of traits that are considered toxic are “learned” doesn’t mean that it’s not also natural for people.

For example selfishness is considered a “toxic trait”. Many, MANY children are naturally self centered most of the time. It’s a phase that most children go through.

There are a lot of traits that people see as toxic.

Anyway competition breeds a lot of things and toxicity is highly likely to be one of those. It’s just always going to be a thing.
