There should be a button in the game that will allow us to turn off private chats, all chats are mixed, please bring this now.
If they’re gonna revamp the chat (which I honestly think they should) then they can as well make it customizable by the user = I can decide what to show etc.

We talk to a lot of people during the day and it gets very confusing after a while, I just want a button. If anyone has any other ideas, they can comment in addition to the topic 
I most certainly agree, the one thing that irritates me the most is that when I join a certain area it automatically switches to that specific chat type (i.e group/army etc.) and many people type in /area /group /army etc.
There is already a little gear icon in the chat that lets you adjust which chat feeds are visible to you, as well as which chats make that notification sound (like when you receive a PM by default). There are a few other settings in that menu but I can’t remember them and I’m not logged in.

Direct Messages can be disabled right now, as well as vroomskrt mentions, you can adjust which chats appear in your “Feed” and muting DMs is an option there as well.
Actually is there a way to send the same message out to all members of our friends list? I find that to be more reliable to find people to join expeditions and sending the same message individually is a pain.
A quick way to resend the same message is to just push the up arrow. No need to retype.
But chat does need a rework, I respond to the wrong person more often than not

What I mean is not to edit the chat section. I want to turn off private messages.
