I have scrolled through DOZENS of threads where people like myself put out there ideas on helping the economy and helping towns besides WW/EF remain relevant, and this is what AGS came up with? Take away the coolest part of their economy?

Linked trading posts is needed. Right now the company that controls everfall can control the entire map because of the amount of gold they can attain from trading tax. They just buy all the best in slot gear for all their pvp players and other companies can’t stop them .
No more arbitrage 
Damn, this is what’s happening with my server. The owner of Everfall is taking ALL the company’s treasure and then gave the governor position to someone random in the guild roster, and then LEFT the company. Now Everfall on my server can’t even pay the upkeep for this week.
Is this kind of behavior bannable?
Typical and predictable guild shenanigans, now extended to everyone on the server instead of just the members of the guild.
Giving players the power to grief other players is always a stupid idea.

Yea, and then the new governor has no clue on how to run Everfall, no money to pay the upkeep (because the previous governor took all the money and left), and other factions are launching attacks to Everfall. I already knew that this company took the money to gear themselves because they were giving away voidbent armor for 1000g each to the lucky person on the server lol I guess I’m in a fucked up server right now.
Doesn’t this make the game more politically and economically interesting than not?
