Property Taxes - Some of us have a life

with overflowing azoth and easy few hundred gold from opr, i now understand the house functioning as a minor gold sink

you can make 345g in 10-20 minutes as a level 60 with your daily faction missions. Also territory standing lowers taxes.

this game is designed around player interaction, community and ingame politics. The taxes may be annoying, but they fit into all these systems.

its not really gold sink, your taxes are used and set by the town governors where the town resides, its used to develop the town and give value to owning it.

Its part of the faction/settlement building/company/territory systems.

If you can’t sink enough time into the game to earn the money for a house, it’s not really a choice is it? You’re simply unable to engage with that content.

is this complaint about taxes is a fucking joke? lol u dont lose the house if u dont pay them and if u cant afford the taxes then wtf are you actually doing on the game? to not make 300g a week lol especially with OR, Wars/invasion/ 3 daily faction missons?

1 outpost run and you done

I wouldn’t say remove the tax. That would collapse part of the generation of gold for company who owns the town. and that gold goes back into the town in way of upgrades.

If you can’t afford the tax, you can let your house be overdue until you can pay it.

Fees do NOT accrue over time. The tax will remain the same, unless you decrease it with standing or the town company raises the home tax.

edit: PS the dev team is increasing the pay period by two days real soon.

Sure its a choice. Making money for taxes isn’t hard and doesn’t take long. You either choose to do it or not. Its simple.

Can you tell me how to make enough gold to pay for my two T1 houses (has been nearly 1k in the past) in the 4-6 hours I can play per week and still have fun playing?

This is locking me out of a part of the game due to real life commitments.

I personally think linking taxation time to playtime and not calendar days would fix this.

Then dont have 2 houses, lol. Its your choice. This isn’t hard.

No one has mentioned how often territories can change factions and an asshole liberal governor jacks up the taxes. So if I go away on vacation for a week IRL and come back… what, i lose my house?

As far as I’ve seen, PvP is the only reasonable way to make enough money for house costs. And if you want the convenience of 3 houses for fast travel reasons, even that won’t cover it. So for the people who don’t want to play PvP, myself included, who don’t have the time to sink into resource grinding every day, how would we make enough money to cover the house payments?

And for the PvP crowd, all the math that’s being done in this thread is ignoring repair costs. If you consistently get stomped in OPR/wars, a lot of the reward gold is gonna go straight into repairing every single piece of equipment you have on you, including your harvesting/resource gathering tools. Even your fishing pole. So how does that translate into affordable gameplay, and a “choice”?

if a dev said that they should be fired. houses are instanced… the only person really ever going into said house is YOU. thats it. its where you go to store shit , get trophy buffs, or feel like a homemaker deco furniture no one will ever see.

Some of the people behind this game are literally morons. They’ve weaved too many elements into this game together and its a cluster FCK

AGS don’t listen to the complainers, they already ruined ESO and made it a carebear paradise.

You choose what activities to participate in. No one is forcing you to do anything. I dont know how this could be put any simpler. There are several ways to make money that more than pays for taxes.

That’s a cop-out answer showing you don’t really have much useful to say.

Not being able to afford the two houses tax is the same as not having the two houses (due to loss of benefits), this is not a “choice” as you previously have stated it being.

When I bought the two houses I had more time to play, my circumstances changed so now I no longer able to and because of that, I am being punished.

You arent being punished, lol. What a ridiculous thing to say. If you want the houses then pay. Otherwise don’t. It is literally your choice.

Of course I am, if I can’t put the time into the game each week, I can’t have the shiny toys and so can’t have access to the buffs meaning the time I do get to play is less efficient than it was, putting me even further behind. Not sure what else to call it other than punishment, even though I paid the same price for the product as everyone else.

No, rewards in game take effort. If you dont put the time in you shouldn’t get the same as everyone else that can. If everyone gets rewarded the same what is the point? That is not punishment, it is just rewards you don’t get. Its like if you work less than someone else you make less money. That isn’t punishment.

the whole point is that if you are a casual, you aren’t getting a house. if you want a house, then play more. if you can’t, then you won’t own a house and it’s that simple
