it feel like, we have to fight dev all the time… it’s exhausting

Please do not have a daily cap or a weekly cap.

Thanks.

STOOOOP TRYING TO ARTIFICIALLY CAP THINGS. Dont do this, dont put artificial limits to stop people from evolving in the game. If u want to make it harder just put more difficult into it. Don’t time gate the salt, just lower the amount you get if u want. Putting artificial cap just demotivate everyone

Can you bring up ALL the time gating? Absolutely everything is time gated in some way. It’s fine to make dailies, like 3 pvp missions giving double rewards.

But don’t stop or hinder players from doing content they like, whatever that content is.

If I liked mobile FTP game design, I’d play those.

Just another showcase of the complete disconnection of the dev team from their playerbase. It’s almost comical that after all this time the playerbase has been complaining about timegates on a regular basis they just put in another one on a highly anticipated feature. Like clockwork.

I don’t think it’s such a bad idea, but in context.

A limit on salts for Arena, a limit on salts for OPR, and unlimited salts for Open World would insure all aspects of PVP remain healthy, without one option killing off the remaining two.

Por favor não façam isso! Se vocês limitarem a quantidade de arenas com recompensa por dia irão matar o modo antes mesmo de ser lançado. Ouçam o apelo dos jogadores e não façam isso!

I would guess this is to ensure that arenas don’t further decimate open world PvP, which for me is a major concern as I have no interest in instanced PvP but a great deal of interest in open world PvP. If there’s no limit on the salt you can get from arenas, then arenas will be a far more effective way to obtain salt than open world PvP, so much so that even people who would otherwise prefer open world PvP will just go to arenas for the salt rewards. Why run around the map searching for players to kill, even if the reward per kill is higher than in arenas, when you can just have people thrown at you on demand in arenas?

Also, some of y’all act like you can’t keep playing arenas after you’ve hit the salt limit, even describing it as “preventing you from having fun”. If the arenas are fun to you, then just keep doing them. You’re allowed even if you’ve stop receiving salt.

@joshisanonymous I think you have some interesting feed back but I think you are missing the forest from the trees here so to speak.

You want open world PvP, as do I. Putting a cap on SALT as well as PVP EXP is going to directly impact open world PVP. At the moment you get both from running open world PvP by doing faction missions as well as arenas. The track also moves forward with OPR as well.

It is important to note, all of the above is going to be impacted simply by people treating it as a daily. Generally means logging in and logging off.

I think you want more PvP, I think we all want more PvP.

Putting a cap on rewards or even the experience track will not generate more PvP, it will have less people log on.

Are you saying that there’s a daily limit on salt gained through open world PvP, as well? My take on the OP was that the limit is only for arenas, supported by this mod post:

So if salt is limited in arenas and OPR but not in open world PvP, then I see that as a balance to not draw people out of open world PvP. Sure, people who only want instanced PvP might just log in until they’ve hit their arena limit, but my concern would be that people who would otherwise prefer to do open world PvP would feel like they have to do arenas instead if arenas had no limits on salt rewards.

please AGS, STOP TIME-GATING US. The people who play now literally play 24/7, stop time gating us. This isn’t Destiny. Do you want people to log in, once a week, complete the stuff that they need then log out?

3v3 is a new mode, a new attraction so to speak that we all want to get in line for. If “we” are putting a limit on the new attraction giving rewards, I can’t see any reason why the same would not apply to older modes.

At the moment, running faction missions is a great way to get Salt and PvP track experience.

Why give players something new and exciting to do if we are just going to tell them, all the content you are already doing is in fact the best route to continue down this new path.

Any cap, on any of the PvP content is going to negatively impact current PvP modes as well as future ones. In addition, we are pulling from the same population, read as PVP player base, so if some players already hit their “ARENA MAX” so to speak, the que times are just going to increase. OPR and ARENA is already a lane for pvp that will cannibalize each other when it comes to player base available at the given time.

A cap to either one, both, or one over the other will just reduce the amount of players who will que at a given time or log in for that matter.

I don’t think there should be any limits, separated or otherwise.

The best way to ensure that all aspects have healthy participation is to ensure that they are engaging and worthwhile. Not by adding artificial reasons for engagement.

They could simply make the first 3 matches (kills for open world) per day give bonus salt and XP then after that it’s a slow grind.

If players stop playing OPR/doing Open World and want to only play Arenas, that’s their choice and they shouldn’t be punished for it. The devs should instead take that as a sign that the other activities are bland compared to Arenas and make them better.

Tbh even if they go ahead with this silly limit I personally won’t touch OPR or Open World PvP.

I already decided that I would never touch OPR again after Arenas were released, so this limit will not change that decision. I suspect it’s the same for a lot of people here.

The limit is just annoying because it’s yet another move to try and push players to do things they don’t want to do.

In that case, you’re one of the people that isn’t interested in open world PvP anyway, which isn’t what I’m concerned about. I’m concerned about people who would otherwise prefer open world PvP but feel like they have to play arenas instead to earn salt. And that sort of problem would get exponentially worse once the ball starts rolling, because the more people that decide to forego open world PvP, the harder it will be to earn salt in open world PvP, which will incentive doing only arenas even more, and so on.

Valid points.

I don’t think it is ideal, but I am someone who is really looking forward to 3v3 for awhile, but with a lot of worry that the 3v3 will kill OPR.

I’m in favor of anything that keeps PVP alive and healthy, in all of forms. As great as 3v3 may be, I don’t want it to become the one and only active PVP available.

I like your idea of incentives better, though. :+1:
