Seriously, just wait like 2-3 seconds before you go all HAM on dps. I get that mutations are timed and you want that gold score, but it will go much smoother and faster if you just let the tank round up all the mobs so they can be AoE’d down.
It’s a waste of time to pull bosses and kite away for your life while the tank has to chase after you and blow taunts to stop the angry spearman from perforating your booty. A fight that would have taken two minutes to burn down now takes five because someone has to get ressed, things are dying slower because of single target damage vs AoE, and the ranged musket/archer in the back is sniping the healer. Just waiting 2-3 seconds for the tank to get aggro will prevent all this.
If you want to go zoom zoom and be the first to touch the mobs, you level up an extra piece of gear (shield) and a set of heavy armor and you tank it. There’s always that one PUG dps guy that thinks he’s some big deck dps then proceeds to get 1 shot because everything is face-tankable before mutations.
Tank has to control the room, has to be first point of contact. There is a smooth sequence to at least the current dungeons that means if everyone does the sequence, it is all fine. It is really important to set up the room and to follow the sequences (cc, taunts, movements, heals, etc).
I run with a crew and we were comfortably doing M9 runs with our new weekly orbs last night. I am the tank. When a DPS hits first it means as a crewwe waste a taunt on the tank getting agro back. The DPS in our crew realise this if it happens because we are tired or whatever and instantly apologises.
If you don’t do this, good luck finding a regular crew to run with. Tanks and healers will not want to run with you.
Dps to other Dps. please help me focus down these archer before they murder our healer because healer aggro is weird as hell when it comes to ranged ads.
the tank can face tank the boss for a hot second it wont take long.
just like the op said, Just sit back a few steps, let the tank run over there and ball them up.
In the meantime if theres an archer standing nearby, pull him toward the tank so he gets into the fun and you dont have to go focus it.
Then drop your big fat aoe CC on the meatball and followup with all you got.
Its actually wonderful to watch how quickly they dissolve when you apply a touch of teamwork.
Half the time you’ll be getting in back hit crits since they’re still facing the tank, so you get even bigger numbers on your screen to make you feel swole.
my fave is when the ga users use that pull move and balls the entire group tighter. i sit back hit flurry like 2-3 times one after another and its all dead.
I mean this is common sense the fact that this tank who’s claiming he’s running the top end PVE content is clearing it with DPS that act like this just shows you the current state of this game……
frowns so you haven’t tried to do mutated dungeons with recommended GS 3 or 4 higher than what you currently have and been successful?
We gold M9 now easily, but when we first attempted M9 undergeared, it was very difficult and quite exhausting.
I simply won’t believe you if you respond to suggest that you have done this and found it easy.
The only way to be successful when hitting higher level dungeons below the recommended gear score, is to play smart and tight and let the tank get agro (as above).
