Hello, i already got my take on it in an other post, but i think it needs more attention.
Nerfs and buffs are needed not especially for Pve, but for PvP experience
What you now gonna do in the near future is ruining one for the other. It doesnt have to be this way.
I have to talk about PvE first. Every weapon should be unique and powerful. First they should work no bugs no exploits no missing perks. If there is a weapon thats underrated, then buff it by adjusting the numbers and make sure the number are correct as the descriptions says. For example Fireball and i tested it has only 105% dmg on crits and the ability perk doesnt work. Its easy to test heavy atk deals 140% dmg fireball also, it shoudl be the same but it doesnt the numbers dont add up. So make sure that your weapons and abilities work before nerfing it into the ground.
Now to PvP its implemented in the core of the game and fused with PvE, but its far from perfect and i dont talk about balacing changes to weapons and abilities. Server stability, game engine in form “how good your pc has to be to run the game properly without having laggs” optimization for the visual effects. I can run this game on high settings but i took it to low settings for PvP and …ing hell aweful in outpost rush cant see s…t. Laggspikes in wars / invasions rubberbanding in the wrong moments. also i dont want to buy a new computer soon that why i keep it on low- medium. Now to the worst part! how can you allow players to bring more benefits to the instanced battlefields wars / outpost rush then thier armor and weapons? I mean food, potions and ammunition. Allowed should be only the food and potions you can buy in the instance for example battle bread etc and you have to earn it first. except ammunition every player is given 1000 of the battle ammunition / arrows when joining the instance without having any weight so u cant get overweight by accident.
Now we can talk about nerfs and definitly the better system how to implement them into the game without affecting PvE at all.
Just by applying a debuff that reflect the nerfs to every player that is flagged for PvP. You also add an alterate ability description when a player is switching to it. It would still affect open world PvE but mostly it wouldnt matter cause the missions arent that hard to push territorys. There are no real benefits to enable it for expeditions or boss farm anyway except you want to reward player more with loot luck or gold drops for having it harder. But it would only be harder for those that really like to play Ice Gaunlet and Firestaff. That cant afford good gear anyway cause they are casual players and dont have the time to grind gold for buying expensive stuff from the auction house or trying to watermark thier GS. You will fuck alot of those players up Amazon. Good you grabbed your money beforehand. They quit you lose nothing except maybe some ingame purchases.
With my idea nothing of this will happen, maybe only to those that only focus on PvP and being Firestaff/ Lifestaff/ Ice Gaunlet users all day and night and cant comply with these changes at all. Very few and thousands will be happy to have a PvP with balacing updates that dont interfere with PvE, cause you cant do endgame solo anyway and some people will get kicked out of group cause noone wants a firestaff anymore. if it goes live groups need better tanks to compensate the heal loss or better dps then the nerfed weapons and by far better healers with better gear then normal, cause you didnt supplied them good focus endgame jewelery like “Infinity Crystal” for melee weapons. The Market is hell expensiv and crafting is a gamble with huge investment casuals not gonna invest except they going to a gold seller. You dont want that either. So whats gonna be?
i cant create a topic in the PTR forum thats why i dragged it to general.
Global auction house is my most like one but i talked about it since a month ago so yeah. i just focussed on the pvp side cause thats why i started playing the game wars / invasions for pve that are effected by the nerfs aswell
Global TP does sound interesting. Can go to the place with lowest taxes to sell and save coins, maybe force all towns to lower taxes just to attract that income.
No interaction with the new enemies, quest types (some are PVP), or anything?
The solution for balance I have been giving since before release is to separate the stats on everything to PvP and PvE stats so they could be balanced without ruining anything on the other one. Weapons, armor, abilities, & perks. Have PvE stats/effect and PvP stats/effect. To me, it’s the only way to balance both and keep everything fun.
Norry dont get me wrong i dont play on PTR. I heard about it, then looked it up and got furious about the dev blog and what they want to change. just by reading and playing all weapons i disliked the nerfs for pve content and also the buffs for some weapons.
There is some stuff coming for missions and quests but i dont care if the game dies for alot of players cause of the nerfs.
i know what they said but how long it will it take? sry dude but ur comment is ridiculous. u ignore the problem and just telling me to test things that dont need to be tested . alone numbers and logic. u want that pve and pvp should be treated the same right!? whats the reason for that is firestaff and healing in pve so strong that everything is always easy?
Btw even worse that some changes wont be adressed before they going live.
I am ignoring the problem? Your ignoring everything but one line of long list.
Since you asked in a pm. I use sword, rapier, hatchet, musket, lifestaff and I use light armor . Currently have a str con build but I have had it as focus int and Dex builds as well. I also have a fire staff waiting to be leveled up.
None of my builds are “meta” .
Regardless I do see alot of people complaining about these test changes in a vacuum without actually going to test to try them out or waiting to see what other changes roll out along with this.
Some things have to be nerfed to be improved. This is. Basic MMORPG cyclical stuff
really are we gonna do this. okay why i need to test more monster variety. why i need to test out weapons im not looking forward too. most things they implement should been thier since release. it was obvious that trading in most other cities fails and the terrioies have more upkeep then income. global was the way to go cause this game offers nothing unique to teh cities. there are no scematics bound to a city for example or guild drops that provides income. so yeah i was pissed to see it when i started playing new world. most ptr releases should have been in the core game at release global market monster and boss diversity. more weapons, dungeons, missing ressource drops for craft legendarys that are mostly garbage.
i dont have to address all those thinks cause they should have been there since launch. what i focus onare bugfixes that are older since 3 weeks. for example chests in genesis and lazarus arent affected by the watermark system. in pve u do nothing except 2 differnent chest runs maybe portals and thats it. the rest u spend watermarking somewhere else. i dont have to look or play ptr changes that are ranked way below other things cause there are way to many flaws in the game. the core is brittle as fuck and now i should cheer about stupid pvp changes that affect pve aswell and a new weapon that looks cool but isnt priority. i just can read it and say okay thats nice and thats way down the list. cause i only care for the biggest change that affects all players and the game mode i like to interact with the most. i can surpise my self for example by not playing the ptr and that keeps me playing the game. By the way i was looking a stream and saw most of the changes.
we talking about a multi billion dollar company that puts more afford in looking of the game instead of function. so dont lie to urself by saying cyclical stuff. its not my first mmo either and smaller companies took more thought into thier game design. i just try to hold them off by fucking up even more. u just have to look up some reviews of new world from well known streamers and most of them i share the opinion with. from 35 players in my guild 90% are offline since a week or more…i dont have to say more
