because if you’ve triggered something on one weapon, the buff should persist through a swap, period. Changing that hinders build diversity and forces you to stay on your current weapon even when your cooldowns are burned. If you shield rush someone with your SNS, you should retain the few seconds of fort since you USED the ability and gained its benefit.
i doubt that there ever was a build that one weapon relied on buff from other weapon, thus build diversity would remain the same
To quote DukeSloth:
“…however one exception exists here, and that is keenly jagged. The bleed will persist as beforehand because it’s on the target and not on you. Now, if you were using these mechanics, you may think that this is unfair and that this kind of limits how you can use different weapons together, but I want you to keep one thing in mind: The weapons in New World are not designed to work together in that way and they have, from the start, tried to not have this overlap between empowers and so on, and it’s more that things slip through the cracks for a very very long time”
for all the changes, i think they are all fixing, not nerf.
except for the rapier riposte is a ture nerf.
now without the 3 s full immune to cc, and nerf to evade, rapier runners will have big trouble running away.
i could see there will be less LS/Rapier rolly polly dive into Sun with 10+red in there and trolling with his little stick.
its going on the right direction.
However, the didnt touch the lifestaff which is the single most broken thing in the new world.
Yes, dex rapier rats can kite forevery, but they dont impact the game outcome.
rapier is good to runawy from med brusier, but not easy to run away from light melee with mobility or ranged.
in my opinion, they should have just leave the rapier alone but focous on fixing their hack staff.
eg: remove the 50% incread heal on SG, but give +10% empower, make SG a channeling skill like meteor shower.
???
+Keenly Empowered on Warhammers to proc before you grav+maelstrom with your Gaxe
+Keen speed on rapiers to proc for healers when escaping
+Keen speed + rogue on sword, enhances chase with hatchet when swapping
+Keen speed on fire staff to enhance chase when swapping to blundie+netshot
+Keenly empowered on firestaff to proc on fireball before you storm+icespike with IG
There are plenty of cases like this.
Intended or not, it’s become a core feature and big selling point to the game as it offers more build diversity and interesting combo setups and faster gameplay
Thoses are interaction thst shouldn’t work either , I’m glad AGS fixing Thoses cheese builds
people really cared about that s**t?
if you’re running away with rapier, then you probly still have rapier in hands
I think the logic here is that all weapon buffs should either stay after switch or be lost. 90% or more of them are lost, which makes me believe all that did not were bugged in some way or another, the effect was unintended.
One can clearly try to build a case why that effect is good. But all in all, there should be consistency in buff behavior among weapons.
Agreed, I’m just arguing it should be that buffs stay on weapon swap. Build crafting can get a lot more in-depth with this rather than staying surface level.
I’m totally fine with this changes. They seem logic
Thoses was cheesy build nothing else. Good riddance to Thoses
Until that GA is running at you with berserk from the hatchet still active.
Let me clarify. Berserk is a SKILL in the skill tree. I’m referring to buffs activated by weapons or the buffs activated by weapon skills. Berserk is a SKILL in itself, that is why it shouldn’t persist.
Nah you said all weapon buffs. It’s a skill that procs a buff. A buff that shows up in the buff bar. And “buffs should persist through weapon swaps”.
You know what class is unaffected by all this?
Light Paladin.
Ty ags
100% brother, have never been thrilled to get hit by both g well procs, but that sort of fluidity in combat is needed so as not to stifle gameplay and make micro managing weapon swaps any more difficult than they have to be.
Boring, goofy changes to already existing interactions.
Then there would be like x3 harder for them to balance stuff. Combinations like BB/IG should never work as they do now on live server.
I’m glad they’re fixing this. We might see more variety in PvP, and maybe even shake up the meta.
